Identification and characterization of CD4 + T cell epitopes present in Trichinella spiralis paramyosin

Veterinary Parasitology, 2016
Trichinellosis is a worldwide zoonosis and vaccinating swine with a potent vaccine is a practical approach to prevent Trichinella infections in China. Paramyosin of T. spiralis (Ts-Pmy) was shown in our previous work to be a good vaccine candidate against Trichinella infections.

Inflammatory response during the muscle phase of Trichinella spiralis and T. pseudospiralis infections

Parasitology Research, 2001
An attempt was undertaken to determine whether a concurrent infection of Trichinella spiralis and T. pseudospiralis can reduce cellular infiltrations against the former species during the muscle phase of worm development. BALB/c, nude and CBA/N mice were orally infected with either species or a mixture of both.

T cells associated with transfer of mucosal immunity to Trichinella spiralis

1990
T-cell lines specific for T.spiralis-derived antigens, i.e. crude worm antigens (CWA) and excretory/secretory (ES) antigens, were generated in vitro using mesenteric lymph node cells (MLNC) from infected mice at various antigen concentrations in the presence of varying lymphocyte/ antigen presenting cell (APC) ratios.

Immune responses to Trichinella spiralis and T. pseudospiralis in mice.

Immunology, 1994
A comparison was made of the immunological responses of inbred NIH mice to the intestinal stage of infection with two species of the genus Trichinella, T. spiralis and T. pseudospiralis, which are known to have distinct parasitological and pathological relationships with their hosts.

Vaccination of rats and pigs against Trichinella spiralis spiralis using the subspecies, T. spiralis nativa.

Canadian journal of veterinary research = Revue canadienne de recherche veterinaire, 1987
Rats and pigs were vaccinated against Trichinella spiralis spiralis either by feeding infective larvae of the subspecies, Trichinella spiralis nativa in musculature or by gavage. The number of larvae established in the musculature of vaccinated nonchallenged and vaccinated challenged rats and pigs were negligible and statistically comparable, while ...

Polymerase chain reaction primers to identify Trichinella spiralis or T. pseudospiralis

Parasitology International, 1997
Abstract Three sets of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) primers for Trichinella isolates were constructed by the following method. Random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) of the corresponding isolates was produced and several fragments were sequenced. Primer sets SB4-2 and SB4-4 were designed from the resulting sequence that could amplify exclusively ...

T lymphocyte-dependent and -independent intestinal smooth muscle dysfunction in theT.spiralis-infected mouse

American Journal of Physiology-Gastrointestinal and Liver Physiology, 1998
We examined the profile of increased intestinal muscle contractility after primary infection with Trichinella spiralis in the mouse, correlating it with parasite expulsion. We also examined the extent to which the changes in muscle contraction were T lymphocyte dependent, by infecting athymic and SCID mice.

[Changes in populations of T lymphocytes in mice infected with Trichinella spiralis].

Zhongguo ji sheng chong xue yu ji sheng chong bing za zhi = Chinese journal of parasitology & parasitic diseases, 1989
Acid alpha-naphthyl acetate esterase (ANAE), a cytoplasmic marker was used to identify the T lymphocytes and their subpopulations in peripheral blood of mice experimentally infected with T. spiralis. The results showed that the absolute number of lymphocytes and T lymphocytes increased in parallel on d3 after infection, reaching the peak on d14, and ...

Biochemical characterisation of Trichinella spiralis and T. pseudospiralis stichocyte antigens.

Applied parasitology, 1994
One and two dimensional Western blots of Trichinella spiralis and Trichinella pseudospiralis extracts were probed with a monoclonal antibody (7C2C5) which recognizes molecules found in the stichocytes. Three major antigens were revealed in excreted:secreted (E/S) preparations at approx Mr 45, 53 & 60 X 10(3).
