Union-intersecting set systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Three intersection theorems are proved. First, we determine the size of the largest set system, where the system of the pairwise unions is l-intersecting.

Counterintuitive Fluorescence Blue Shift in Symmetry Breaking Dicationic Bis(indolium) with Two‐Photon Absorption Properties for NIR Living Cell Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Highly water‐soluble dicationic bis(indolium) dyes have been prepared, showing excellent two‐photon absorption and light emission. Their fluorescence behavior discloses an unusual increasing blue shift with increasing solvent polarity, which, in parallel, is beneficial for enhanced detection in biological media.

Higgsing the stringy higher spin symmetry

open access: yes, 2015
It has recently been argued that the symmetric orbifold theory of T4 is dual to string theory on AdS3 x S3 x T4 at the tensionless point. At this point in moduli space, the theory possesses a very large symmetry algebra that includes, in particular, a ...

Thyroxine-binding globulin: investigation of microheterogeneity [PDF]

open access: yes, 1981
Preparations of T4-binding globulin (TBG) from human serum was performed using only two affinity chromatography steps. Purity of the protein was demonstrated by a single band in overloaded disc and sodium dodecyl sulfate electrophoresis, equimolar ...

A Nano‐Interception Strategy for Chronic Heart Failure: Prussian Blue Nanoparticles Disrupt Fibroblast‐Immune Communication via CCL2 Sequestration

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A nano‐interception strategy disrupts pathogenic fibroblast–macrophage crosstalk in chronic heart failure. Scalable Prussian blue nanoparticles selectively sequester CCL2 via ultrahigh‐affinity binding, preventing CCR2+ macrophage recruitment and breaking a key fibro‐inflammatory circuit. This approach demonstrates robust efficacy in murine and porcine

Prospective study comparing positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) with conventional staging workup T3, T4 breast carcinoma

open access: yesCancer Research, Statistics, and Treatment
Background: The staging workup for T3/T4 breast carcinoma requires multiple imaging sessions. Using 18F-FDG PET/CT (18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography) as a single modality may streamline diagnosis, reduce hospital ...

Cell Cycle Control of Nuclear Metabolism Couples Phosphatidylinositol Signaling to Histone Methylation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nuclear metabolism oscillates during cell cycle progression. Quantitative chromatome proteomics and imaging reveal phase‐specific dynamics of PIP5K1A and nuclear PIP2, linking phosphatidylinositol metabolism to histone methylation. This work identifies nuclear lipid metabolism as a previously unrecognized regulatory axis coordinating chromatin ...

Investigation Of Serum Level Of T4, TSH, Free Testosterone And Prolactin Hormones As Well As Alb And SHBG Proteins In Women With Hair Loss Vs. Those Without Hair Loss

open access: yesپیاورد سلامت, 2013
Background and Aim: Female pattern hair loss(female androgenic alopecia) is a common but puzzling condition in women which increases by aging. Female hair loss is strongly linked to hormones and hormonal imbalances. The aim of this study was to determine
