Investigation of an epistastic effect between a set of TAAR6 and HSP-70 genes variations and major mood disorders†

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part B: Neuropsychiatric Genetics, 2010
AbstractEpistasis, the interaction between genes, is a topic of current interest in molecular and quantitative genetics. We have further studied a previously investigated sample of 187 major depressive disorder (MDD) patients, 171 bipolar disorder (BD) patients, and 288 controls, and tried to analyze the interaction between a set of variations of ...

Epistasis between a set of variations located in the TAAR6 and HSP-70 genes toward schizophrenia and response to antipsychotic treatment

open access: yesEuropean Neuropsychopharmacology, 2009
Suggestive associations have been reported between trace amines and heat shock proteins, and a disrupted pathophysiology that enhances the risk of psychosis and that modifies responses to antipsychotic treatments. Our group previously reported genetic studies on TAAR6 and HSP-70 separately in patients with schizophrenia.

Association between TAAR6 polymorphisms and airway responsiveness to inhaled corticosteroids in asthmatic patients

open access: yesPharmacogenetics and Genomics, 2015
Genetic polymorphisms may be responsible for the wide variation in response to inhaled corticosteroids in asthmatic patients. We had previously reported that one polymorphism rs7772821, located on the 3'-UTR of trace amine-associated receptor 6 (TAAR6), is significantly associated with percentile changes in the forced expiratory volume in 1 s (%ΔFEV1 ...

No support for an association with TAAR6 and schizophrenia in a linked population of European ancestry

Psychiatric Genetics, 2008
Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the trace amine associated receptor trace amine associated receptor 6 gene and 3' flanking region have been shown to be associated with schizophrenia. To replicate these findings, we conducted a family-based association study with the five most significant SNPs in our sample of 79 sib-pair families (56/79 sib ...

Association of the trace amine associated receptor 6 (TAAR6) gene with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder in a Korean case control sample.

Journal of Psychiatric Research, 2008
Trace amines and their receptors may be implicated in the pathogenesis of psychiatric disorders. Previous studies have reported association of the trace amine associated receptor 6 (TAAR6) gene with susceptibility to schizophrenia and bipolar disorder but results have not been consistent.
