Binding Mechanisms in Visual Perception and Their Link With Neural Oscillations: A Review of Evidence From tACS [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2021
Neurophysiological studies in humans employing magneto- (MEG) and electro- (EEG) encephalography increasingly suggest that oscillatory rhythmic activity of the brain may be a core mechanism for binding sensory information across space, time, and object features to generate a unified perceptual representation. To distinguish whether oscillatory activity

Catalyst-free synthesis and mechanical characterization of TaC nanowires

Science China Physics, Mechanics & Astronomy, 2021
TaC nanowires are expected to be an ideal reinforcing material in ultra-high-temperature ceramics. However, their growth mechanisms and mechanical properties remain unclear, and low-cost large-scale synthesis has not been realised. In this study, bulk synthesis of [100]-oriented TaC nanowires is accomplished by carbothermal synthesis through a direct ...

Microstructure and mechanical properties of MoNbW(TaC)x composites

International Journal of Refractory Metals and Hard Materials, 2021
Abstract In this study, novel MoNbW(TaC)x composites with eutectic-like structures were firstly prepared by arc melting. The composites consisted of body-centered cubic (BCC) structured high entropy alloy (HEA) and face-centered cubic (FCC) structured carbide (Mo, Nb, Ta, W)C. During the solidification, eutectic reaction occurred in the composites to

Formation of Nanostructured Ni-TaC and Fe-TaC Composite Powders via Mechanical Alloying

Solid State Phenomena, 2016
In this study, mixtures of 25 wt.% of tantalum carbide (TaC) and iron (Fe) or nickel (Ni) powders were mechanical alloyed against time in order to investigate the interactions between the reinforcement (harder TaC particles) and surrounding ductile metallic matrixes (Fe and Ni).

Effect of Multi-axial Forging on Mechanical Properties and Microstructure of AA7075/TaC Composites

Volume 1: Additive Manufacturing; Advanced Materials Manufacturing; Biomanufacturing; Life Cycle Engineering, 2023
Abstract The objective of the current work is to develop a AA7075 reinforced Tantalum Carbide (1, 3, 5, and 7 wt%) composite through stir casting. The secondary process such as Multi-axial forging (MAF) followed by ageing was performed on AA7075/5TaC(S-4) composite to enhance the strength and ductility of composite.

Densification and mechanical properties of TaC-based ceramics

Materials Science and Engineering: A, 2009
Abstract Densification of TaC was enhanced while the grain growth was suppressed by adding 1 or 2 wt% B4C, which allowed mechanical properties to be analyzed. A relative density of >98% was achieved for TaC with B4C additions by hot pressing at 2100 °C. By comparison, additive-free TaC could be hot pressed to only 94% relative density at 2300 °C.

Investigation on the ablation performance and mechanism of HfC coating modified with TaC

Corrosion Science, 2020
Abstract HfC coatings modified with different TaC contents were designed and successfully deposited on SiC-coated carbon/carbon (C/C) composites by supersonic atmosphere plasma spraying. The phase composition, morphology, and ablation resistance were surveyed, and the structural evolution of the oxide layer was studied as well. Results indicated that

Negotiation mechanism for TAC SCM component market

Proceedings of the fourth international joint conference on Autonomous agents and multiagent systems, 2005
This paper presents a new negotiation mechanism and a new supplier model for Trading Agent Competition Supply Chain Management(TAC SCM). Under the new negotiation mechanism, an agent is allowed to negotiate with component suppliers on price, delivery date and supply quantity while a supplier can autonomously vary its production capacity with market ...

The effect of deposition temperature on the microstructure and mechanical properties of TaC coatings

Materials Letters, 2014
Abstract Tantalum carbide (TaC) coatings were produced on carbon/carbon composites by chemical vapor deposition. The effect of deposition temperature on the structure and mechanical properties were investigated. X-ray diffraction results showed that the coatings exhibited a single phase cubic structure. For the coating produced at 1300 °C, the carbon
