Novel approaches for drug development against chronic primary pain: A systematic review

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract Chronic primary pain (CPP) persisting for more than 3 months, associated with significant emotional distress without any known underlying cause, is an unmet medical need. Traditional or adjuvant analgesics do not provide satisfactory pain relief for a great proportion of these patients.

A comprehensive benchmarking with interpretation and operational guidance for the hierarchy of topologically associating domains

open access: yesNature Communications
Topologically associating domains (TADs), megabase-scale features of chromatin spatial architecture, are organized in a domain-within-domain TAD hierarchy.

Modeling Thoracic Aortic Dissection Using Patient-Specific iPSCs Reveals VSMC Dysfunction and Extracellular Matrix Dysregulation

open access: yesStem Cells International
Thoracic aortic dissection (TAD) is a life-threatening condition characterized by medial degeneration and vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMC) dysfunction, with no effective medical therapy currently available. The underlying pathological mechanisms of TAD

Quantitative analysis of DNA‐GATA1 binding alterations linked to hematopoietic disorders

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Native holdup allows the quantitative determination of affinities between full‐length transcription factors and DNA. Mutations in either the protein or the DNA can modulate binding strength, which can be precisely quantified using this approach. Applied to GATA1, it revealed mutations that alter DNA binding.

A 4-Decade Population-Based Registry of Thoracic Aortic Dissection Causing Sudden Death in the Young

open access: yesJACC: Advances
Background: Thoracic aortic dissection (TAD) causing sudden cardiac death (SCD) in the young is overlooked and poorly described. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to assess: 1) the incidence of TAD-related SCD, and 2) the prevalence and features ...

RAB4A acts as a negative feedback regulator of extracellular vesicle secretion during TGF‐β signaling

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
TGF‐β signaling regulates extracellular vesicle (EV) release in cancer cells by modulating the expression and activity of genes associated with EV biogenesis. The TGF‐β‐induced upregulation of RAB4A expression facilitates fast endosomal recycling, a process that limits the fusion of multivesicular bodies with the plasma membrane and EV secretion. Hence,
