Transcriptome profiling revealed the growth superiority of hybrid pufferfish derived from Takifugu obscurus ♀ × Takifugu rubripes ♂

Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part D: Genomics and Proteomics, 2021
Hybridization is an efficient method to breed new strains of aquatic animals. In the present study, we produced a hybrid puffer by crossing female obscure puffer with male tiger puffer. The hybrid puffer could live in fresh water like obscure puffer and exhibited growth superiority.

Metabolism and pharmacokinetics of mebendazole in Japanese pufferfish (Takifugu rubripes)

Food Additives & Contaminants: Part A, 2022
As a typical and broad-spectrum benzimidazole, mebendazole (MBZ) has long been used in human and veterinary medicine to treat parasitic infestations, and is widely employed in the aquaculture of Japanese pufferfish (Takifugu rubripes). However, there have been no studies examining the pharmacokinetic characteristics of MBZ in Japanese pufferfish ...

Mitochondrial DNA sequence of the hybrid of Takifugu flavidus (♀) ×  Takifugu rubripes (♂)

Mitochondrial DNA Part A, 2014
The complete mitochondrial genome of the hybrid of Takifugu flavidus (♀) × Takifugu rubripes (♂) was sequenced and characterized. The total length of the mitogenome is 16,443 bp. It contains 13 protein-coding genes, 2 rRNA genes, 22 tRNA genes and 2 non-coding regions: origin of light-strand replication (OL) and control region (D-loop).

Characterization of the pufferfish Takifugu rubripes apolipoprotein multigene family

Gene, 2005
We have characterized the apolipoprotein multigene family of the pufferfish Takifugu rubripes. The pufferfish mainly contains 28-kDa, 27-kDa, and 14-kDa apolipoproteins in its plasma and was designated apo-28 kDa, apo-27 kDa, and apo-14 kDa, respectively.
