Lysine requirement for tambaqui juveniles

open access: yesSemina: Ciências Agrárias, 2018
The aim of this study was to determine the requirement for lysine in the diet of juvenile tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum). In total, 750 juvenile fish (0.34 ± 0.02g) were distributed in tanks arranged in a randomized block design with six treatments, five replications in two blocks, and 25 fish per unit, for 50 d.

Less feed does not mean lower growth: The impact of feeding frequency on fishes reared in BFT enriched with sodium chloride [PDF]

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Zootecnia
The objective of this work was to analyze the impact of different feeding frequencies on the growth and hematological parameters of freshwater fish species (tambaqui, Colossoma macropomum; matrinxã, Brycon amazonicus) subjected to biofloc technology ...

Physiological responses of tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum) fed diets supplemented with silage from fish and vegetables residues

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Biology, 2022
The demand for products to replace high-cost raw materials, such oil and fish meal, in the manufacture of feed for use in aquaculture, while also guaranteeing the nutritional quality of the diets, is increasing.

Digestible tryptophan requirement for tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum) fingerlings

open access: yesREVISTA CIÊNCIA AGRONÔMICA, 2020
ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to determine the digestible tryptophan requirement of tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum) fingerlings and its relationship with digestible lysine. A total of 300 tambaqui fingerlings with three initial weights (2.12 ± 1.19, 8.13 ± 0.75, and 15.18 ± 1.91 g) were distributed in a randomized complete block design ...

Transcriptomic evidences of local thermal adaptation for the native fish Colossoma macropomum (Cuvier, 1818) [PDF]

open access: yesGenetics and Molecular Biology, 2020
Brazil has five climatically distinct regions, with an annual average temperature difference up to 14 ºC between the northern and southern extremes. Environmental variation of this magnitude can lead to new genetic patterns among farmed fish populations.

Phosphorus requirements of tambaqui juveniles

open access: yesSemina: Ciências Agrárias, 2018
The aim of this study was to determine the requirement of digestible phosphorus in diets for juvenile tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum). 300 juveniles (26.4 ± 0.68 g) were used in a completely randomized design, consisting of six treatments with five replicates and 10 fish per experimental unit. The treatments consisted of six isoprotein, isonitrogenous,

Genetic variability of tambaqui broodstocks in the Brazilian state of Pará [PDF]

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Zootecnia, 2019
ABSTRACT The present study evaluated the genetic variability of the broodstocks of tambaqui hatcheries in the Brazilian state of Pará. Samples were obtained from the caudal fin of 110 broodstocks from one hatchery in each of four municipalities (Santarém, Peixe-Boi, Breu-Branco, and Ulianópolis), representing all the individuals of each hatchery stock.
