Lysine requirement for tambaqui juveniles

open access: yesSemina: Ciências Agrárias, 2018
The aim of this study was to determine the requirement for lysine in the diet of juvenile tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum). In total, 750 juvenile fish (0.34 ± 0.02g) were distributed in tanks arranged in a randomized block design with six treatments, five replications in two blocks, and 25 fish per unit, for 50 d.

Influence of fasting and refeeding cycles on growth, health and feeding costs of the Amazonian fish Colossoma macropomum [PDF]

open access: yesActa Amazonica
Feed restriction can be used as a management strategy to increase feed efficiency through compensatory growth (a higher growth rate after a period of restricted feeding).

Development of a multi-species SNP array for serrasalmid fish Colossoma macropomum and Piaractus mesopotamicus

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
Scarce genomic resources have limited the development of breeding programs for serrasalmid fish Colossoma macropomum (tambaqui) and Piaractus mesopotamicus (pacu), the key native freshwater fish species produced in South America.

Transcriptomic evidences of local thermal adaptation for the native fish Colossoma macropomum (Cuvier, 1818) [PDF]

open access: yesGenetics and Molecular Biology, 2020
Brazil has five climatically distinct regions, with an annual average temperature difference up to 14 ºC between the northern and southern extremes. Environmental variation of this magnitude can lead to new genetic patterns among farmed fish populations.

Anthropogenic Barriers Limit Fish Access to Essential Habitats in the Amazon in the Face of Climate Change. [PDF]

open access: yesGlob Chang Biol
Rivers across the Amazon Basin are increasingly threatened by climate change and dam construction, which restrict fish movements. We combined climate projections with river‐network connectivity analyses to identify where suitable habitats for frugivorous and socioeconomically important fish are likely to persist and where access may be lost due to ...

Acute toxicity of essential oils of Aloysia triphylla (L’Hér.) Britton, Lippia gracilis Schauer, and Piper aduncum L. in Colossoma macropomum (Cuvier, 1818) [PDF]

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Biology, 2023
The aim of this study was to determine the acute toxicity of the essential oils (EOs) of Aloysia triphylla, Lippia gracilis and Piper aduncum in juvenile tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum), and evaluate the possible histopathological alterations in their ...

Efeito do volume do tanque-rede na produtividade de tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum) durante a recria Effect of cage volume on productivity of tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum) during second growth phase

open access: yesActa Amazonica, 2004
