O‐GlcNAcylation of KAT2A Enhances Bladder Cancer Proliferation by Inhibiting the KAT2A‐TRIM22 Interaction

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
Lysine acetyltransferase 2A (KAT2A) is a transcriptional coactivator and a member of the Histone Acetyltransferase (HAT) family. While altered KAT2A activity has been implicated in various cancers, its role in bladder cancer (BLCA) remains poorly understood.

Med1 plays a critical role in the development of tamoxifen resistance

open access: yes, 2012
Understanding the molecular pathways that contribute to the development of tamoxifen resistance is a critical research priority as acquired tamoxifen resistance is the principal cause of poor prognosis and death of patients with originally good prognosis

Lifestyle Management in Menopause: A Systematic Review of Women With Premature Ovarian Insufficiency

open access: yesClinical Endocrinology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Premature ovarian insufficiency (POI), the loss of ovarian function before age 40, increases the risk of cardiovascular disease, low bone mineral density, dementia and psychological distress. Lifestyle interventions reduce chronic disease risk in other populations and, with hormone therapy, may improve health outcomes in POI.

Unexpected Promotion of Bone Regeneration by Inhibition of BMPR1A‐Mediated BMP Signalling

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
BMPR1A downregulation reduces ID1, releases TCF3 to activate GNG4‐PI3K‐AKT signalling, thereby promoting OPC proliferation and bone regeneration. ABSTRACT Bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) signalling plays a pivotal role in bone regeneration by regulating osteoprogenitor cell (OPC) function, and BMPs have been widely used in clinical treatment. However,

Zeb2 Controls Retinal Physiological and Pathological Angiogenesis by Regulating Astrocyte Proliferation and Differentiation

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
During development, the oxygen‐sensitive transcription factor Zeb2 restrains astrocyte proliferation and maturation to ensure balanced retinal angiogenesis. In disease, it promotes the neurotoxic A1 astrocyte phenotype and inflammation, thereby promoting reparative revascularization over pathological neovascularization.

Epigenetic Mechanisms of Tamoxifen Resistance in Luminal Breast Cancer

open access: yes, 2017
Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers and the second leading cause of cancer death in the United States. Estrogen receptor (ER)-positive cancer is the most frequent subtype representing more than 70% of breast cancers.

Effects of short‐course preoperative endocrine therapy on tumour morphology and immunohistochemical profile in oestrogen receptor‐positive, HER2‐negative breast cancer

open access: yesHistopathology, EarlyView.
Short‐course preoperative endocrine therapy induces histopathological and immunophenotypic changes in oestrogen receptor‐positive, HER2‐negative breast cancer. Proliferative response is independently associated with baseline genomic risk (MammaPrint) and progesterone receptor expression.

The Effects of Dietary Loading on Chondrocytes Transdifferentiation During Postnatal Maxillary Growth

open access: yesOrthodontics &Craniofacial Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background The mid‐palatal suture is a key growth site for transverse maxillary expansion, yet the cellular mechanisms governing its postnatal development and response to mechanical loading remain poorly defined. This study investigated the contribution of chondrocyte‐derived osteogenesis to maxillary bone formation and the influence of ...

TMEM16A channel signalling microdomains in the regulation of vascular function

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Schematic representation of TMEM16A channel signalling microdomains. Calcium influx or calcium release from the endoplasmic/sarcoplasmic reticulum (ER/SR) activates TMEM16A channels through interactions with regulatory proteins in vascular smooth muscle cells or endothelial cells. TMEM16A channel activation drives chloride efflux,

Seven shades of tamoxifen resistance : Molecular mechanisms of drug resistance in breast cancer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Tamoxifen treatment of estrogen receptor-positive breast cancer reduces breast cancer mortality. However, resistance to tamoxifen develops frequently.
