Watermark based recovery of tampered documents

open access: yesProceedings of the ACM SIGKDD Workshop on Intelligence and Security Informatics, 2012
In this work recovery of text documents is addressed. Text documents are watermarked using pixel flipping based watermarking and self-embedding for not only authentication but eventual recovery in presence of tampering. A scheme is proposed that recovers against all possible editing attacks such as substitution, insertion and deletion of characters ...

Tamper Localization and Lossless Recovery Watermarking Scheme

Communications in Computer and Information Science, 2011
Tamper localization and recovery watermarking scheme can be used to protect the integrity and authenticity of medical images. In this paper, a simple tamper localization and recovery scheme that uses lossless compression was proposed. Lossy compression may also be applied when necessary.

Reversible medical image watermarking for tamper detection and recovery [PDF]

open access: yes2010 3rd International Conference on Computer Science and Information Technology, 2010
This research paper discussed the usage of watermarking in medical images to ensure the authenticity and integrity of the image and reviewed some watermarking schemes that had been developed. A design of a reversible tamper detection and recovery watermarking scheme was then proposed.

Multi-level tamper detection and recovery with tamper type identification

2013 IEEE International Conference on Image Processing, 2013
A fragile watermarking scheme with simple and effective tamper detection and recovery capability is proposed in this paper. In this new scheme, not only one parity-check watermark but also two copies of feature-bit watermark are embedded. For tamper detection, a new multi-level tamper detection strategy including intra-block detection, inter-block ...

Experiment of Tamper Detection and Recovery Watermarking in PACS [PDF]

open access: yes2010 Second International Conference on Computer Research and Development, 2010
Medical images such as x-rays, ultrasounds and MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) plays an important role in helping the physicians to diagnose a disease or body conditions. These images can be tampered with existing image processing tools that is easily available.

Improved image tamper localisation using chaotic maps and self-recovery

Journal of Visual Communication and Image Representation, 2017
Abstract In this paper an image tamper localisation scheme is proposed in which authentication bits of a 2 × 2 image block are generated using the chaotic maps. Further the scheme is improved by including a self-recovery method to recover the tampered regions.

An Efficient Image Self-recovery and Tamper Detection Using Fragile Watermarking

Lecture Notes in Computer Science, 2014
Fragile watermarking is one of the most effective approaches to insure the integrity of digital images. In this paper, an efficient self-recovery and tamper localization scheme using fragile watermarking is proposed. The proposed method generates 12-bit tamper detection data and 20-bit self-recovery data for each 4 \(\times \) 4 block.

Medical Image Watermarking with Tamper Detection and Recovery

2006 International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2006
This paper discussed security of medical images and reviewed some work done regarding them. A fragile watermarking scheme was then proposed that could detect tamper and subsequently recover the image. Our scheme required a secret key and a public chaotic mixing algorithm to embed and recover a tampered image. The scheme was also resilient to VQ attack.

An Image Watermarking Scheme with Tamper Detection and Recovery

First International Conference on Innovative Computing, Information and Control - Volume I (ICICIC'06), 2006
In the aspect of tamper detection and recovery [ I ] [2], there are some methods to embed the feature information in host image for recovery. When the host image has been tampered with, the feature information can be used to restore the original image. However, it does not have the ability to verzb the ownership of the copyright.
