Quantitative proteomic analysis reveals different characteristics of bladder cancer cells after exposure to bisphenol A

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Bisphenol A (BPA), a common chemical in plastics, exerts dual effects on bladder cancer cells: low doses promote growth and migration, while high doses suppress growth and migration. Multi‐omics and bioinformatics reveal BPA acts via MAPK and inflammatory pathways.

Tandem mass spectrometry of deprotonated iodothyronines [PDF]

open access: yesRapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry, 2005
Abstract In order to assist with the development of more selective and sensitive methods for thyroid hormone analysis the [M–H] − anions of the iodothyronines T4, T3, rT3, (3,5)‐T2 and the non‐iodinated thyronine (T0) have been generated by negative ion electrospray mass ...

YlmG1 is localized exclusively to the chloroplast envelope membrane and is involved in preprotein translocation in Arabidopsis thaliana

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cytosolically synthesized chloroplast preproteins are translocated across the outer and inner envelope membranes through translocons called TOC and TIC, respectively. In green algae and plants, the TIC core is composed of essential membrane proteins, Tic12, Tic20, and Tic214.

Structural identification of N-glycan isomers using logically derived sequence tandem mass spectrometry

open access: yesCommunications Chemistry, 2021
Mass spectrometry can be used for structural determination of N-glycans, but commonly requires prior derivatisation or comparison to a library of standards.

Comparison of EI-GC-MS/MS, APCI-LC-MS/MS, and ESI-LC-MS/MS for the Simultaneous Analysis of Nine Nitrosamines Eluted from Synthetic Resins into Artificial Saliva and Health Risk Assessment

open access: yesToxics, 2021
Nitrosamines can be produced during the manufacture of rubber-type products such as pacifiers or the nipples of baby bottles. Humans can be exposed to the nitrosamines in these products when they are eluted into saliva.

Mass spectrometry based identification of AMP‐O‐Tris generated by Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Isolated Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10 generates the noncanonical ATP‐derived product AMP‐O‐Tris while in Tris‐containing buffer as identified via mass spectrometry, revealing relaxed nucleophile selectivity under isolated conditions. These findings suggest that multiprotein Csm complex assembly restricts Cas10 reactivity toward canonical cyclic ...

Analysis of posttranslational modifications of proteins by tandem mass spectrometry Mass Spectrometry For Proteomics Analysis

open access: yesBioTechniques, 2006
Protein activity and turnover is tightly and dynamically regulated in living cells. Whereas the three-dimensional protein structure is predominantly determined by the amino acid sequence, posttranslational modification (PTM) of proteins modulates their ...

Identification of a Widespread Palmitoylethanolamide Contamination in Standard Laboratory Glassware. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Introduction: Fatty acid ethanolamides (FAEs) are a family of lipid mediators that participate in a host of biological functions. Procedures for the quantitative analysis of FAEs include organic solvent extraction from biological matrices (e.g., blood ...
