QSAR study for cytotoxicity of diterpenoid tanshinones

Interdisciplinary Sciences: Computational Life Sciences, 2011
A quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) of a series of tanshinone compounds with cytotoxicity against murine leukemia cell lines P-388 has been studied using density functional theory (DFT) method combined with statistical analysis.

[Absorption mechanism of tanshinone II A, cryptotanshinone, tanshinone I and tanshinones extract in rat small intestine in vivo].

Zhongguo Zhong yao za zhi = Zhongguo zhongyao zazhi = China journal of Chinese materia medica, 2011
To study the absorption mechanism of tanshinones in the roots of Salvia miltiorrhiza as well as the interaction between the components in the effective fraction. The model of intestinal absorption in vivo was used and the concentrations of the tanshinones were determined by HPLC, the apparent absorption constant (K(a)) and half life of absorption (t1/2)

Tanshinone IIA and tanshinone I production by Trichoderma atroviride D16, an endophytic fungus in Salvia miltiorrhiza

Phytomedicine, 2012
In this study the isolation of an endophytic fungus from the root of the medicinal herb Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge is reported for the first time. The fungus produced tanshinone I and tanshinone IIA in rich mycological medium (potato dextrose broth) under shake flask and bench scale fermentation conditions.

[Metabolites of tanshinone Ⅰ and tanshinone ⅡA in vivo in rats].

Zhongguo Zhong yao za zhi = Zhongguo zhongyao zazhi = China journal of Chinese materia medica, 2019
An efficient method of ultra-high performance liquid chromatography coupled with linear ion trap-Orbitrap (UHPLC-LTQ-Orbitrap) mass spectrometer was established to elucidate the in vivo metabolites of tanshinone Ⅰ and tanshinone ⅡA in rats. Urine and plasma samples were collected after oral gavage.

Enhancement of solubility and dissolution rate of cryptotanshinone, tanshinone I and tanshinone IIA extracted from Salvia miltiorrhiza

Archives of Pharmacal Research, 2012
Cryptotanshinone, tanshinone I and tanshinone IIA are three major components in the extract of Salvia miltiorrhiza with pharmacological significance. However, their effective utilization is limited due to poor water solubility and bioavailability.

Cytotoxic effect and apoptotic mechanism of tanshinone A, a novel tanshinone derivative, on human erythroleukemic K562 cells

European Journal of Pharmacology, 2011
Tanshinone A is a novel derivative of phenanthrene-quinone extracted from Salvia miltiorrhiza BUNGE, a traditional herbal medicine. Cytotoxic effect of tanshinone A was observed in this study. Additionally its mechanism of promoting apoptosis was also investigated.
