Cardboard formulation made from banana stalks and coconut coir using linear programming method

open access: yesAdvances in Food Science, Sustainable Agriculture, and Agroindustrial Engineering, 2021
Malang Regency produced 690,136 tons banana in 2016. The banana production is in line with the waste (banana stalks). Banana stalks contain 83.3% cellulose and 2.97% lignin, of which can be used as raw material for paperboard making.

Managing agency business groups, elite directors, and the rubber boom, 1897–1913

open access: yesThe Economic History Review, EarlyView.
Abstract We identify a new organizational form, the Managing Agency Business Group (MABG), demonstrating how agency houses used interlocking directorships to build groups on the basis of commercial and plantation expertise to access finance on London stock markets and local capital markets in the pre‐1914 rubber boom.

The Ability of Near-Infrared Spectroscopy to Discriminate Plant Protein Mixtures: A Preliminary Study

open access: yesAppliedChem, 2023
The aim of this paper was to evaluate the effect of two different matrices (e.g., starch base flour vs. protein base flour) on the ability of near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy to classify binary mixtures of chickpea (protein), corn and tapioca (starch ...

Dietary modulation of antimicrobial peptides (HAMP and LEAP2) in Chinook salmon (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha) fed a phytobiotic functional diet: Integrated genomic characterisation and tissue‐specific expression

open access: yesJournal of Fish Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) are key components of the innate immune system in fish, providing rapid protection against microbial pathogens. Among these, the liver‐expressed antimicrobial peptides (LEAPs), comprising LEAP‐1 (hepcidin; HAMP) and LEAP‐2, play central roles in host defence and iron regulation.

Optimized Stacking Ensemble Machine Learning for Nondestructive Toxicological Risk Assessment of Fish Meat Using Hyperspectral Imaging

open access: yesJournal of Food Safety, Volume 46, Issue 5, October 2026.
Hyperspectral imaging and an optimized stacking ensemble learning model are developed for rapid, nondestructive toxicological assessment of fish meat. This framework integrated multiple machine learning classifiers to accurately distinguish toxicologically contaminated fish from fresh samples using both reduced (25‐band) and full (224‐band) spectral ...
