Targeting Intracellular Targets
Current Drug Delivery, 2004Many therapeutic agents have intracellular compartments as their site of action. Targeted delivery of these agents to their specific intracellular targets could result in enhanced therapeutic efficacy and reduced toxicity. Various carriers have been shown useful in targeted delivery of different classes of therapeutic agents.

Using the vocabulary of ballistics in medicine for emphasis can result in misleading exaggeration and semantic confusion. The dual meaning of target as either aiming point (aim at) or outcome (aim to achieve) creates a muddle in the efforts to comply with quality assurance initiatives.

Clinical Lung Cancer, 2010
Within only a decade, molecular targeted therapy has become a dominant feature in cancer research. Hundreds of novel molecules are being investigated in thousands of preclinical and clinical experiments. Excitement has been fueled by successful approval of targeted therapies such as imatinib for gastrointestinal stromal tumor, trastuzumab for breast ...

The emergence of effective cancer chemotherapy is one of the major medical advances of the second half of the 20th century. In certain neoplasms — such as gestational choriocarcinoma, childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and subgroups of Hodgkin's disease and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma — chemotherapy is often curative, and the promise of long-term ...

Targeting the correct target in HCC
Gut, 2017Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most frequent liver cancer and one of the most common causes of cancer-related death. The rates of incidence and mortality of HCC are increasing worldwide. Unfortunately, both figures are very similar mainly due to the longer survival of patients with cirrhosis, the aggressiveness of HCC and the lack of efficient ...

Inhibition of return in cue–target and target–target tasks
Experimental Brain Research, 2006Inhibition of return (IOR), the term given for the slowing of a response to a target that appeared at the same location as a previously presented stimulus, has been studied with both target-target (TT; participants respond to each successive event) and cue-target (CT; participants only respond to the second of two events) tasks.

Target Enclosure for Multiple Targets
2013Target enclosure by autonomous robots is useful for many practical applications, for example, surveillance of disaster sites. Scalability is important for autonomous robots because a larger group is more robust against breakdown, accidents, and failure.

Abstract In this chapter we propose to treat metonymy as a cognitive operation of conceptual elaboration based on the part-whole relationship that is triggered by the use of an expression (or metonymic vehicle) associated with a certain conceptual cluster (or metonymic source) within a conceptual domain.

Targeting sarcomas: therapeutic targets and their rational
Seminars in Diagnostic Pathology, 2008Bone and soft tissue sarcomas are an infrequent and heterogeneous group of mesenchymal tumors, including more than a hundred different entities attending to histological patterns. Sarcomas are quite resistant to conventional chemotherapy (anthracycline and ifosfamide) with the exception of some subtypes, such as Ewing's sarcoma (ES).
