Genetic diversity in two threatened species in Vietnam: Taxus chinensis and Taxus wallichiana
Journal of Forestry Research, 2016Taxus chinensis and T. wallichiana in have been threatened in their distribution areas in recent decades because of their over-exploitation and reduction and destruction of native habitats. Determining the genetic diversity in populations of the two species will provide guidelines for their protection and preservation.

Novel Diterpenoids from Taxus chinensis
Journal of Natural Products, 1993Five new diterpenoids, taxchinins A {3}, B{4}, and C{5}, 19-hydroxy-7-epibaccatin III {6}, and 10-deacetyl-10-oxobaccatin V {7}, have been isolated from the needles and stems of Taxus chinensis together with twelve known compounds including taxol {1}. These structures were elucidated and identified by spectroscopic techniques.

Gene, 2017Taxus spp. are ancient gymnosperms that produce a unique secondary metabolite, namely, taxol, an anticancer drug. JAZ proteins are key regulators of the JA signaling pathway, which control taxol biosynthesis. However, the JAZ proteins of Taxus spp. are poorly studied.

Taxoids from Cell Cultures of Taxus Chinensis
Phytochemistry, 1998Abstract A cell culture of Taxus chinensis was found to produce taxoids in 4% yield (dry weight) after stimulation with methyl jasmonate. From the culture medium and cell mass, 16 taxoids were isolated. The structures were determined by two-dimensional gradient-enhanced DQF-COSY, HMQC, HMBC, and NOESY NMR experiments.
