Global Graph Surrogates and Neural Graph Elements for Computational Mechanics

open access: yesProceedings in Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, Volume 26, Issue 4, December 2026.
ABSTRACT Machine learning surrogates are increasingly used to accelerate physics‐based simulations by predicting full‐field responses at a fraction of the computational cost. In this contribution, we present two complementary graph‐based approaches for surrogate modelling in computational mechanics.

Any old Tom, Dick, or Harry: The citation impact of author first name genderedness

open access: yesJournal of the Association for Information Science and Technology, Volume 77, Issue 11, Page 1418-1437, November 2026.
Abstract This paper examines the relationship between the genderedness of authors' first names and citation distributions in US‐affiliated scholarly production from 2010 to 2019. Merging a first name genderedness table derived from Wikidata with Web of Science publication data, we develop a relative distributional framework that compares first name ...

Effect of Visualized Respiratory Training on Patient Cooperation and Image Quality in Gadoxetic Acid Disodium‐Enhanced Liver MRI: A Randomized Controlled Trial

open access: yesJournal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Volume 64, Issue 5, Page 1384-1395, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Respiratory motion artifacts impair diagnostic accuracy in gadoxetic acid disodium (Gd‐EOB‐DTPA)‐enhanced liver MRI. Conventional verbal pre‐scan breathing training often yields inconsistent patient cooperation and image quality, creating an urgent clinical need for optimized training methods.

Cellular Senescence Dysregulates Antiviral Interferon Responses in Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 11, November 2026.
Senescent idiopathic pulmonary fibroblasts (IPF) lung fibroblasts are transcriptomically uncoupled from a functional response to virus relative to healthy (HLF) lung fibroblasts. HLF lung fibroblasts require viral effectors STAT1 or IRF3 to enact a viral response while IPF lung fibroblasts do not rely on these axes in response to virus.

Synthesis and Polymerization of a Lactone Building Block Derived From Cashew Nut Shells

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 19, 14 October 2026.
Cardanol as a renewable substituted phenol feedstock was selectively transformed into the corresponding cyclohexanone derivative by means of a partial metal‐catalyzed hydrogenation. Subsequent conversion via Baeyer–Villiger oxidation gave a lactone product consisting of a mixture of regioisomers, which has been readily converted into its homopolymer ...
