Neuroblastoma (NBL) shows remarkable biologic heterogeneity, resulting in favorable or unfavorable prognoses. Previously, we reported that most unfavorable NBLs express high telomerase activity to maintain telomere length. Recently, telomere binding proteins (TBPs) and alternative lengthening of telomeres (ALTs) have been identified as key factors of ...

Characterization and expression analysis of the tomato telomere-binding protein LeTBP1
Plant Science, 2006Abstract We cloned LeTBP1 cDNA that encoded a putative tomato telomere-binding protein. Sequence analysis revealed that LeTBP1 contained an open reading frame of 2067 bp and encoded a protein consisting of 689 amino acids with a predicted molecular mass of 77.0 kDa. The deduced amino sequence of LeTBP1 indicated that a myb-like motif, a structure

Mitochondrial telomere-binding protein (mtTBP) of Candida parapsilosis binds with high affinity to 5' single-stranded overhang of the linear mitochondrial DNA of this yeast (Tomáska, L'., Nosek, J., and Fukuhara, H. (1997) J. Biol. Chem. 272, 3049-3056).

Analysis of telomere replication activities: telomerase and telomere binding proteins
1999Abstract This chapter outlines the types of assays currently available for the analysis of two major classes of proteins important for telomere replication: telomerase, and telomere binding proteins. Since many of the other activities important for telomere replication, including DNA polymerases and helicases, are not necessarily ...
