A new perspective on radiotherapy in the comprehensive treatment of cancer

open access: yesPrecision Radiation Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy remains a key component in the comprehensive management of cancer. Its effectiveness is significantly improved through strategic combinations with chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy, providing a range of therapeutic outcomes from cure to palliative care.

DNA methylation remodeling in temozolomide resistant recurrent glioblastoma: comparing epigenetic dynamics in vitro and in vivo

open access: yesJournal of Translational Medicine
Background Glioblastoma is the most aggressive type of brain tumor and is associated with a poor prognosis. First-line treatment is surgical resection followed by radiotherapy and temozolomide-based chemotherapy.

A Rapid Biochemical and Radiological Response to the Concomitant Therapy with Temozolomide and Radiotherapy in an Aggressive ACTH Pituitary Adenoma

open access: yesCase Reports in Endocrinology, 2017
Background and Importance. In the last eight years temozolomide (TMZ) has been used as the last-line treatment modality for aggressive pituitary tumors to be applied after the failure of surgery, medical therapy, and radiotherapy.

Patient‐derived surgical samples reveal the cellular and molecular signatures of glioblastoma infiltration in distinct radiological zones

open access: yesBrain Pathology, EarlyView.
Integrated histological and transcriptional profiling of the glioblastoma periphery reveals clinically relevant tumor infiltration beyond MRI‐defined boundaries. MRI‐guided biopsies from contrast‐enhancing (CE), non‐contrast‐enhancing (nCE), edema (E), and radiologically normal (N) regions demonstrate that nCE areas frequently retain neoplastic and ...

MAP17 Enhances Chemoresistance and Tumorigenicity of Glioblastoma‐Initiating Cells via the Canonical NF‐кB Pathway

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
MAP 17 is identified as highly expressed in TMZ‐resistant glioblastoma‐initiating cells (GICs). MAP17 enhances GIC proliferation, TMZ resistance, and tumorigenicity through NF‐κB/RELA‐dependent BCL2 upregulation. ABSTRACT Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most common malignant brain tumor in adults.

Promising Survival for Patients With Newly Diagnosed Glioblastoma Multiforme Treated With Concomitant Radiation Plus Temozolomide Followed by Adjuvant Temozolomide

open access: yes, 2002
PURPOSE: Temozolomide is a novel oral alkylating agent with demonstrated efficacy as second-line therapy for patients with recurrent anaplastic astrocytoma and glioblastoma multiforme (GBM).

Circadian rhythms in pediatric high-grade gliomas may contribute to treatment efficacy

open access: yesScientific Reports
Pediatric high-grade gliomas (pHGG) are highly invasive with poor survival outcomes. Timing of Temozolomide administration has been shown to affect survival of adult patients with glioblastoma.

hsa-miR-34a-5p enhances temozolomide anti-tumoral effects on glioblastoma

open access: yesEXCLI Journal : Experimental and Clinical Sciences
Glioblastoma multiform (GBM) is a commonly diagnosed brain neoplasm with a poor prognosis. Accumulating evidence has highlighted the significance of microRNA (miR) dysregulation in tumor development and progression.

Elucidating the Pro‐Tumor Role of LncRNA CROCCP2 in Glioma via the miR‐5584‐5p/HOXD11/Autophagy Pathway

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
The lncRNA CROCCP2 upregulates HOXD11 by competitively adsorbing miR‐5584‐5p, thereby promoting glioma cell proliferation, migration, and invasion by inhibiting autophagy. It significantly enhances tumor growth in vivo, suggesting it may be a potential therapeutic target for gliomas.

Efficacy of temozolomide in children with solid tumors

open access: yes, 2020
Temozolomide, an alkylating drug first adopted to treat patients with malignant gliomas, is actually an antineoplastic drug used in various regimens against childhood tumors. Treatment with temozolomide is an effective therapy for different childhood
