Draft genome sequence of Desulfoplanes formicivorans Pf12BT, a sulfate-reducing bacterium of the family Desulfomicrobiaceae

open access: yesStandards in Genomic Sciences, 2017
Desulfoplanes formicivorans strain Pf12BT is the type strain of the type species in the genus Desulfoplanes, which is the one of the genera in the family Desulfomicrobiaceae within the order Desulfovibrionales. This deltaproteobacterium was isolated from

Transport Properties of Film and Bulk Sr0.98Zr0.95Y0.05O3−δ Membranes

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
In electrode-supported solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) with a thin electrolyte, the electrolyte performance can be affected by its interaction with the electrode, therefore, it is particularly important to study the charge transport properties of thin ...

Temperature-dependent Fermi surface probed by Shubnikov–de Haas oscillations in topological semimetal candidates DyBi and HoBi

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Rare earth-based monopnictides are among the most intensively studied groups of materials in which extremely large magnetoresistance has been observed.

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Fractionation of nitrogen isotopes in the enzymatic deamination of alanine: an insight into the quantitative evaluation of anaerobic metabolism in ecosystems

open access: yesProgress in Earth and Planetary Science
Nitrogen isotope ratios of amino acids have been employed as a tool for illustrating the resource utilization of organisms and the trophic transfer between organisms in food webs.

Screen Temperatures and 10m Temperatures [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Glaciology, 1970
At places with an annual mean temperature lower than −20°C on the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets, the temperature at a depth of 10 m is close to the annual mean at the surface and at the level of the meteorological shelter. With temperatures higher than about −35°C the size and sign of the différences vary.

An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...
