Identification of a Shiga toxin A‐derived peptide internalized into Gb3 receptor‐bearing cells via interaction with the Shiga toxin B subunit

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The process of internalization of the Shiga toxin A subunit via formation of a complex with the Shiga toxin B subunit, which specifically binds to the Gb3 receptor. The peptide is designed to act as a carrier of drugs into cancer cells. Here, we explored the potential of peptides derived from the catalytic A subunit of Shiga toxin (STxA) to be drug ...

Nanometer Scale Atomic Structure of Zirconium Based Bulk Metallic Glass [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We have studied the nanometer scale structure of bulk metallic glass (BMG) using fluctuation electron microscopy (FEM). The nanometer scale medium range order (MRO) in BMG is of significant interest because of its possible relationship to the properties,

Aspects of finite temperature corrections in string theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
PhDIn this thesis some aspects of temperature corrections in string theory are analyzed: in particular, we study the thermal contributions to the 4 dimensional effective potential arising from string theory compactifications.

Quasi-All-Passive Thermal Control System Design and On-Orbit Validation of Luojia 1-01 Satellite

open access: yesSensors, 2019
In order to resolve the large fluctuations in temperature range problem of Luojia 1-01 satellite caused by low heat inertia and poor thermal conductivity of structure, a quasi-all-passive thermal control system (TCS) design is presented under the ...

Investigating transcription factor dynamics in health and disease using FRAP

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
FRAP analysis of GFP‐tagged transcription factors reveals how molecular mobility and target engagement change in response to drug treatment. By combining live‐cell imaging, quantitative model fitting, and statistical analysis, this approach uncovers transcription factor dynamics linked to disease mechanisms, providing a powerful framework for ...

Medium Range Order in High Aluminum Content Amorphous Alloys Measured by Fluctuation Electron Microscopy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
High Al-content metallic amorphous alloys have an unusual devitrification behavior. Upon annealing, alloys made by a rapid quench develop a high density (>1021 m-3) of pure Al nanocrystals.

A DFB-LD Internal Temperature Fluctuation Analysis in a TDLAS System for Gas Detection

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2019
The temperature fluctuations inside commercially distributed feedback laser diode were experimentally measured and analyzed in detail in this study. In tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy based gas sensing systems, the temperature of the laser ...

An epithelial GPR35 isoform supports tumor‐associated transcriptional and metabolic phenotypes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
GPR35 generates two functionally distinct isoforms with previously unresolved roles. GPR35‐short mediates immune‐cell chemotaxis, while GPR35‐long is enriched in colorectal cancer epithelium, where it supports increased metabolism, proliferation, and tumor‐associated transcriptional programs.

Stabilizing Environmental Conditions for Improved Biogas Generation: A Comparative Analysis of Above-ground and Underground Plastic Digester in Fed-batch Systems [PDF]

open access: yesIranica Journal of Energy and Environment
The negative environmental effects of cow dung disposal and the limited supply of conventional gas sources call for innovative approaches to address both problems at the same time.
