Analytical template for gravitational-wave echoes: signal characterization and prospects of detection with current and future interferometers

open access: yes, 2018
Gravitational-wave echoes in the post-merger ringdown phase are under intense scrutiny as probes of near-horizon quantum structures and as signatures of exotic states of matter in ultracompact stars.

Survivin and Aurora Kinase A control cell fate decisions during mitosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aurora A interacts with survivin during mitosis and regulates its centromeric role. Loss of Aurora A activity mislocalises survivin, the CPC and BubR1, leading to disruption of the spindle checkpoint and triggering premature mitotic exit, which we refer to as ‘mitotic slippage’.

Membrane synthesis by microemulsion polymerisation stabilised by commercial non-ionic surfactants [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Earlier works had demonstrated that microemulsion polymerisation is a well suited technique to produce nanostructured membranes if surfmers (polymerisable surfactants) are used to stabilise the primary template (sponge phase microemulsion).

Construction of Spatiotemporal Infant Cortical Surface Functional Templates

open access: yes, 2020
Infant cortical surface templates play an essential role in spatial normalization of cortical surfaces across individuals in pediatric neuroimaging analysis. However, existing infant surface templates have two major limitations in functional MRI analysis. First, they are constructed by co-registration of cortical surfaces based on structural attributes,

Effective therapeutic targeting of CTNNB1‐mutant hepatoblastoma with WNTinib

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
WNTinib, a Wnt/CTNNB1 inhibitor, was tested in hepatoblastoma (HB) experimental models. It delayed tumor growth and improved survival in CTNNB1‐mutant in vivo models. In organoids, WNTinib outperformed cisplatin and showed enhanced efficacy in combination therapy, supporting its potential as a targeted treatment for CTNNB1‐mutated HB.

Metal-organic framework template-guided electrochemical lithography on substrates for SERS sensing applications

open access: yesNature Communications, 2023
The templating method holds great promise for fabricating surface nanopatterns. To enhance the manufacturing capabilities of complex surface nanopatterns, it is important to explore new modes of the templates beyond their conventional masking and molding

Estimating photometric redshifts with artificial neural networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
A new approach to estimating photometric redshifts - using Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) - is investigated. Unlike the standard template-fitting photometric redshift technique, a large spectroscopically-identified training set is required but, where ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Multi-directional Geodesic Neural Networks via Equivariant Convolution

open access: yes, 2018
We propose a novel approach for performing convolution of signals on curved surfaces and show its utility in a variety of geometric deep learning applications.

Confinement Effects on the Crystalline Features of Poly(9,9-dioctylfluorene) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Typical device architectures in polymer-based optoelectronic devices, such as field effect transistors organic light emitting diodes and photovoltaic cells include sub-100 nm semiconducting polymer thin-film active layers, whose microstructure is likely ...
