How temporary is temporary employment in Spain?. [PDF]

open access: yes
We use the Spanish Labor Force Survey (EPA) for the period 1987-1996 to study trends, characteristics, and labor force transitions of temporary workers.

Transitions into permanent employment in Spain : an empirical analysis for young workers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We analyze the Spanish temporary workers’ transitions into permanent employment and to what extent those who become unemployed are able to achieve a permanent job.

Transfer Printing and Reconfiguration of Soft Electronics Using Digital Microfluidics and Laser Machining

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This paper presents a digital microfluidics‐based technique for transferring and reconfiguring soft nanomembranes. Laser‐machined nanothin membranes are picked up, transported, and aligned via tailored surface tension and the actuation of water droplets, enabling the development of flexible electronics, the integration of functional materials on 3D ...

Is Temporary Employment a Stepping Stone for Unemployed School Leavers? [PDF]

open access: yes
Many school-leavers enter the labour market via temporary employment. In this paper we investigate the impact of a temporary employment spell at the start of the career on the transition rate into permanent employment.

Exploring Pb‐Chelation Chemistry in the Crystallization Dynamics of Halide Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A mechanism of how Pb‐chelation chemistry governs coordination geometry and initial nucleation behavior at the precursor level of halide perovskite, by regulating the deprotonation state of a chelating additive, is elucidated. This allows for innovative reaction‐system design principles that promote coherent growth while suppressing defect formation in

Integrated Field‐Free SOT Domain‐Wall Synapses and MTJ Stochastic Neurons for Hardware Boltzmann Machines

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Field‐free spin‐orbit torque domain‐wall synapses integrated with stochastic MTJ neurons enable compact hardware Boltzmann machines. Leveraging intrinsic stochasticity and multi‐level conductance, the system achieves efficient probabilistic learning with high accuracy, demonstrating a scalable spintronic platform for energy‐efficient edge AI.

Dual‐Inductive and Programmable Switching: A New Paradigm in Ionic Interface‐Controlled Perovskite Memory

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A fully programmable, dual‐inductive switchable halide perovskite memristor is demonstrated through precise BDAI2‐mediated interface engineering. This ion‐modulating layer suppresses stochastic filamentary growth, enabling stable, non‐filamentary switching via dynamic barrier modulation.

The rise of temporary employment in Japan: Legalisation and expansion of a non-regular employment form [PDF]

open access: yes
This discussion paper examines the institutionalization process of a non-regular employment form especially focusing on the establishment of the temporary dispatching work (haken) system.

Near‐Infrared Light‐Driven Zn/Au Janus Micromotors for Multiplex SERS Detection of Anticancer Drugs

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Zn/Au Janus micromotors, propelled by thermophoretic effects under NIR light, function as active SERS platforms for single and multiplex detection of anticancer drugs. Their dynamic motion enhances analyte exchange at the Au interface, reducing saturation and competitive adsorption, thereby improving sensitivity and extending the linear detection range.

Do Temporary Help Jobs Improve Labor Market Outcomes for Low-Skilled Workers? Evidence from 'Work First' [PDF]

open access: yes
A disproportionate share of low-skilled U.S. workers is employed by temporary-help firms. These firms offer rapid entry into paid employment, but temporary-help jobs are typically brief, and it is unknown whether they foster longer-term employment.
