Expanding the molecular spectrum of tenosynovial giant cell tumors
BackgroundWhile great advances in clinical and pathological description of tenosynovial giant cell tumors (TGCT) have been made, TGCT molecular heterogeneity represents an ongoing challenge. The canonical oncogenic fusion CSF1::COL6A3 is not systematically observed, suggesting that other oncogenic mechanisms are involved in tumorigenesis.

Metastasizing tenosynovial giant cell tumour, diffuse type/pigmented villonodular synovitis [PDF]
Tenosynovial giant cell tumour, diffuse type, also known under a variety of other terms including diffuse pigmented villonodular synovitis, tends to be locally aggressive and not infrequently can show multiple recurrences. The differential diagnosis with

Management of Tenosynovial Giant Cell Tumor: A Neoplastic and Inflammatory Disease [PDF]
BackgroundPatients with diffuse tenosynovial giant cell tumor (TGCT) face a high risk of recurrence, progression, and disability. This systematic review assesses the recent evidence of surgical, adjuvant, and systemic treatments for TGCT.MethodsWe ...

Fat‐Containing Soft Tissue Lesions of the Limbs and Body Wall—A Pictorial Essay
ABSTRACT Lipomatous tumours are frequently encountered on imaging. The spectrum of lipomatous tumours ranges from simple lipomas, which can be monitored clinically, to high‐grade liposarcomas, which require timely, multidisciplinary management. The presence of fat within lesions may also be observed in non‐lipomatous tumours, as well as in a variety of

Pigmented villonodular synovitis of the temporomandibular joint and skull base
Pigmented villonodular synovitis (PVNS) is a diffuse type tenosynovial giant cell tumor, which are benign but locally aggressive tumors presenting in joint, tendon sheath, and bursa synovium. This tumor most commonly occurs in the knee; it is rare in the

UTMD Suppresses CSF‐1 to Drive Macrophage‐Mediated Ferroptosis in Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma
ABSTRACT The tumor microenvironment (TME) of Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma (PTC), particularly the role of tumor‐associated macrophages (TAMs), contributes to therapeutic resistance. This study investigated whether ultrasound‐targeted microbubble destruction (UTMD), a non‐invasive physical modality, could reprogram the TME through modulation of TAMs and ...

Optimal Treatment for Tenosynovial Giant Cell Tumor of the Hand
This review examines the following aspects of tenosynovial giant cell tumors (TSGCTs): the use of multiple names, the complex relationship between tumor growth pattern and location, the high rate of postoperative recurrence, local invasiveness, use of nonsurgical therapy with molecularly targeted drugs, and best current treatments.

Tenosynovial Giant Cell Tumors in the Hand and Foot
Giant cell tumor of the tendon sheath (GCTTS) is one of the most common benign, slow-growing soft tissue tumors of the hand and foot. This study aimed to evaluate the anatomic distribution of the GCTTS and correlate the surgical treatment with clinical outcomes and recurrence rates. In this retrospective study, a total of 78 cases of GCTTS of the hand ...

Tissue‐Resident Macrophage in Inflammation and Cancer
Opposing macrophage functions in inflammation and cancer converge on shared mechanistic nodes, informing cross‐disease therapeutic strategies. ABSTRACT Tissue‐resident macrophages (TRMs) are long‐lived immune cells strategically distributed across organs, where their functional plasticity enables both homeostatic maintenance and pathological ...
