Clinical characteristics and treatment outcomes in six cases of malignant tenosynovial giant cell tumor: initial experience of molecularly targeted therapy

open access: yesBMC Cancer, 2018
Background Although tenosynovial giant cell tumor (TGCT) is classified as a benign tumor, it may undergo malignant transformation and metastasize in extremely rare occasions. High aberrant expression of CSF1 has been implicated in the development of TGCT

Mouse Models of Osteosarcoma: Unraveling Disease Mechanisms and Accelerating Drug Discovery and Development

open access: yesCancer Reports, Volume 8, Issue 11, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Osteosarcoma is the most frequent primary bone malignancy, affecting mainly children, adolescents, and young adults. For the past 40 years, improvements in the survival of patients with osteosarcoma have been minimal, primarily as a consequence of the lack of systemic therapy options beyond traditional cytotoxic agents.

A Novel Case of Tenosynovial Giant Cell Tumor at 4 Years After Total Knee Arthroplasty for Medial Osteoarthritis With Synovial Osteochondromatosis

open access: yesCase Reports in Orthopedics
We report an unusual case of a tenosynovial giant cell tumor (TGCT) in a patient who received a total knee arthroplasty (TKA) for medial knee osteoarthritis with synovial osteochondromatosis (SO).

Clinical significance of immunocyte- and ferroptosis-related markers for the prognosis of patients with tenosynovial giant cell tumor: A cross-sectional study

open access: yesCancer Treatment and Research Communications
Background: Tenosynovial giant cell tumor (TGCT) comprises localized (L-TGCT) and diffuse (D-TGCT) subtypes, but how ferroptosis regulators, tumor-associated immune-cell markers and proliferation indices jointly relate to subtype and recurrence is poorly

ShcD adaptor protein drives invasion of triple negative breast cancer cells by aberrant activation of EGFR signaling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 19, Issue 10, Page 2833-2859, October 2025.
We identified adaptor protein ShcD as upregulated in triple‐negative breast cancer and found its expression to be correlated with reduced patient survival and increased invasion in cell models. Using a proteomic screen, we identified novel ShcD binding partners involved in EGFR signaling pathways.

Pexidartinib for the treatment of adult patients with symptomatic tenosynovial giant cell tumor: safety and efficacy

open access: yes, 2020
INTRODUCTION: Tenosynovial giant cell tumor (TGCT) is a benign clonal neoplastic proliferation arising from the synovium often causing pain, swelling, joint stiffness, and reduced quality of life.

Tenosynovial giant cell tumours [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Tenosynoviale reusceltumoren (tenosynovial giant cell tumours, TGCT) zijn zeldzame goedaardige tumoren. Deze aandoening werd voorheen pigmented villonodular synovitis (PVNS) genoemd.

Chondroid Tenosynovial Giant Cell Tumor: A Clinicopathological and Immunohistochemical Analysis of 5 New Cases

open access: yes, 2010
Tenosynovial giant cell tumor (TGCT) arises from the synovium of joints or tendon sheaths. Chondroid metaplasia in TGCT is rare with only 4 well-documented cases reported in the literature.

Localized Giant Cell Tumor of Tendon Sheath of the Second Toe in a Young Diabetic Renal Transplant Patient

open access: yesFoot & Ankle Surgery: Techniques, Reports & Cases
Localized tenosynovial giant cell tumor (lTGCT), formerly termed giant cell tumor of the tendon sheath (GCTTS), is a benign soft tissue neoplasm that commonly affects the hand and wrist, with rare involvement of the foot and toes.

Microglial Modulation as a Therapeutic Avenue for Perioperative Neurocognitive Disorders: Unveiling Pathophysiological Mechanisms and Clinical Implications

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 31, Issue 7, July 2025.
Microglia interact with oxidative stress, reactive astrocytes, neuronal damage, neuroinflammation, synaptic dysfunction, mitochondrial dysfunction, epigenetic modifications, and blood–brain barrier disruption, playing a critical role in the pathophysiology of perioperative neurocognitive disorders (PND).
