CSF1 receptor inhibition of tenosynovial giant cell tumor using novel disease-specific MRI measures of tumor burden. [PDF]
Aim: Monitoring treatment of tenosynovial giant cell tumor (TGCT) is complicated by the irregular shape and asymmetrical growth of the tumor. We compared responses to pexidartinib by Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST) 1.1 with ...

Tissue‐Resident Macrophage in Inflammation and Cancer
Opposing macrophage functions in inflammation and cancer converge on shared mechanistic nodes, informing cross‐disease therapeutic strategies. ABSTRACT Tissue‐resident macrophages (TRMs) are long‐lived immune cells strategically distributed across organs, where their functional plasticity enables both homeostatic maintenance and pathological ...

Tenosynovial giant cell tumor of the distal tibiofibular joint [PDF]
Tenosynovial giant cell tumors are extremely rare tumors with highly nonspecific symptoms. This benign but aggressive disease has a slow course of progression; however, it can ultimately lead to irreversible damage to a joint.

Summary Targeting the colony‐stimulating factor 1 receptor (CSF1R) to remove tumour‐associated macrophages is being explored as cancer therapy. This strategy may be relevant for chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL), which strongly depends on support from myeloid cells.

Macrophage: Biological Functions, Diseases, and Therapeutic Targets
Macrophages are sentinel innate immune cells that arise from embryonic precursors and bone marrow monocytes, displaying a functional continuum that transcends the classical M1 (pro‐inflammatory)/M2 (anti‐inflammatory) dichotomy. Under homeostatic conditions, balanced M1/M2 polarization preserves tissue integrity by coordinating immune surveillance ...

ABSTRACT Cancer cells rewire their metabolism to sustain a high proliferation rate. Sensing external cues is essential to match the metabolic fluxes of the cells to the external stimuli. As part of the glucose metabolism, the hexosamine biosynthesis pathway (HBP) is considered a nutrient‐sensing pathway. The HBP produces UDP‐GlcNAc, a key precursor for
