Tequila Production

Critical Reviews in Biotechnology, 1995
Tequila is obtained from the distillation of fermented juice of agave plant, Agave tequilana, to which up to 49% (w/v) of an adjunct sugar, mainly from cane or corn, could be added. Agave plants require from 8 to 12 years to mature and during all this time cleaning, pest control, and slacken of land are required to produce an initial raw material with ...

Thermoluminescence of Tequila-based nanodiamond

Radiation Protection Dosimetry, 2010
Nanodiamond thin films were deposited onto Si (100) substrates using Tequila as precursor by pulsed-liquid injection chemical vapour deposition at 850 degrees C. Some samples were exposed to beta particle irradiation in the dose range from 100 to 1600 Gy, and it was found that the thermoluminescence (TL) response is a linear function of dose.

Converting tequila vinasse diluted with tequila process water into microalgae-yeast flocs and dischargeable effluent

Bioresource Technology, 2020
During tequila production from agave, wastewaters are produced, such as dark-colored vinasse. To add value to this vinasse, microalgae-yeast biomass was produced on vinasse diluted with tequila process water (first rinsing water of agave syrup production).
