Time-Delay Multiplexing of Two Beams in a Terahertz Imaging Radar [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We demonstrate a time-delay multiplexing technique that doubles the frame rate of a 660–690-GHz imaging radar with minimal additional instrument complexity.

Direct measurement of molecular mobility and crystallisation of amorphous pharmaceuticals using terahertz spectroscopy. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Despite much effort in the area, no comprehensive understanding of the formation and behaviour of amorphous solids has yet been achieved. This severely limits the industrial application of such materials, including drug delivery where, in principle ...

Sub-terahertz and terahertz generation in long-wavelength quantum cascade lasers

open access: yesNanophotonics, 2019
Terahertz quantum cascade laser sources with intra-cavity non-linear frequency mixing are the first room-temperature electrically pumped monolithic semiconductor sources that operate in the 1.2–5.9 THz spectral range.

TRANSMISSION OF TERAHERTZ RADIATION THROUGH ONE-DIMENSIONAL WIRE GRATINGS AT DIFFERENT ANGLES OF INCIDENCE [PDF]

open access: yesRadio Physics and Radio Astronomy, 2020
Purpose: One-dimensional wire diffraction gratings, usually being mounted on ring frames, are often used in quasi-optical instruments under the construction of functional devices of different usage.

Nonlinear Terahertz Emission in Semiconductor Microcavities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We consider the nonlinear terahertz emission by the system of cavity polaritons in the regime of polariton lasing. To account for the quantum nature of terahertz-polariton coupling we use the Lindblad master equation approach and demonstrate that quantum

MATCHING STRUCTURES WITH FORM BIREFRINGENCE WITH FREE SPACE IN THZ RANGE [PDF]

open access: yesРадиофизика и электроника, 2015
When constructing polarization radio measuring paths operating in the THz frequency range (0.1…10 THz) the differential phase sections (DPS) are widely used. The use of terahertz waves (THz) allows research in radio astronomy, radio spectroscopy, biology,

Thermal Radiation from Carbon Nanotubes in the Terahertz Range [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2007
The thermal radiation from an isolated finite-length carbon nanotube (CNT) is theoretically investigated both in near- and far-field zones. The formation of the discrete spectrum in metallic CNTs in the terahertz range is demonstrated due to the reflection of strongly slowed-down surface-plasmon modes from CNT ends.

Electron transport and terahertz gain in quantum-dot cascades [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Electron transport through quantum-dot (QD) cascades was investigated using the formalism of nonequilibrium Green's functions within the self-consistent Born approximation.

PROSPECTS OF THE USE OF GRADIENT GRATES IN THE LASERS OF TERAHERTZ RANGE [PDF]

open access: yesRadio Physics and Radio Astronomy, 2018
Purpose: The improvement and development of terahertz radiation sources is required for the further development of the terahertz frequency range. Submillimeter lasers are one of the few sources of terahertz radiation.
