Metaphor as a speech action in a frame model

open access: yesГуманитарные и юридические исследования
Introduction. Earlier studies of the frame organization of the artistic narrative allowed us to come to the conclusion that, firstly, ontological frames-determinants can predetermine the narrative structure of both extended fragments of the narrative ...

Rule Extraction by Genetic Programming with Clustered Terminal Symbols [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
When Genetic Programming (GP) is applied to rule extraction from databases, the attributes of the data are often used for the terminal symbols. However, in the case of the database with a large number of attributes, the search space becomes vast because ...

Integration of circadian and hypoxia signaling via non‐canonical heterodimerization

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CLOCK, BMAL1, and HIFs are basic helix‐loop‐helix and Per‐Arnt‐Sim domain (bHLH‐PAS) proteins, which function as transcription factors. bHLH‐PAS proteins are designated in two classes. Many class I proteins are regulated by environmental signals via their PAS domains, but such signals have not been identified for all.

Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

Correlation Analysis between Walking Permeability and Walking Effort (Case Study Terminals in Bandung City)

open access: yesJurnal Teknik Sipil
Bandung was chosen as a pilot area for Indonesian Mass Transit (MASTRAN) project to increase urban mobility and accessibility. With this MASTRAN project, public transportation nodes should be accessible by all modes, one of which is walking.

Terminal guidance sensor system [PDF]

open access: yes, 1981
A system is described for guiding a claw to the proper distance and into the proper orientation in yaw and pitch, to engage a grappling fixture. The system includes four proximity sensors on the claw, that are arranged at corners of an imaginary square ...

Circuit theory of crossed Andreev reflection

open access: yes, 2006
We consider transport in a three terminal device attached to one superconducting and two normal metal terminals, using the circuit theory of mesoscopic superconductivity.

Multiple ETS family transcription factors bind mutant p53 via distinct interaction regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mutant p53 gain‐of‐function is thought to be mediated by interaction with other transcription factors. We identify multiple ETS transcription factors that can bind mutant p53 and found that this interaction can be promoted by a PXXPP motif. ETS proteins that strongly bound mutant p53 were upregulated in ovarian cancer compared to ETS proteins that ...

Conserved structural motifs in PAS, LOV, and CRY proteins regulate circadian rhythms and are therapeutic targets

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.
