MTL: Memristor Ternary Logic Design

International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2020
The nanoscale implementations of ternary logic circuits are particularly attractive because of high information density and operation speed that can be achieved by using emerging memristor technologies. Memristor is a nanoscale device with nonvolatility and adjustable multilevel states, which creates an intriguing opportunity for the implementation of

Meaningful special classes of ternary logic functions-regular ternary logic functions and ternary majority functions

IEEE Transactions on Computers, 1988
We consider special ternary logic functions: the regular functions suitable for treating ambiguity and the majority functions based on an extended majority principle. The main subjects are: there is a one-to-one correspondence between the n-ary monotone regular ternary logic functions and the \((n+1)\)-ary monotone Boolean functions.

Combinational logical circuits into ternary logic

SPIE Proceedings, 2009
In this paper the authors present, from theoretical point of view combinational logical circuits achieved with optical devices that work using a ternary logic. Those three levels are clearly distinct and the danger of confusion does not exist. These models can be implemented not only in the integrated optics but also in the classic optics where the ...

CMOS ternary logic circuits

IEE Proceedings G Circuits, Devices and Systems, 1990
We review the main difficulties and advantages in developing CMOS ternary circuits. In addition to employing multiple power sources and multiple thresholds, we describe a new theory of transmission functions for designing CMOS ternary logic circuits. It can explain the main CMOS ternary circuits proposed previously.

Ternary Logics in Decision Making

2021
Decision support systems must provide a solution even in cases when the data needed for finding the solution are incomplete, inaccurate, or contradictory. The binary logic does not work with these data effectively because in close World assumption it leads to wrong results as in open World assumption make the goal unreachable in many cases.

Logical Design of Ternary Switching Circuits

IEEE Transactions on Electronic Computers, 1965
A logical design theory for ternary voltage switching circuits is developed. The theory is based on familiar binary switching circuit elements and simplification methods. The theory thus leads to simple electronic realization. The basic system of ternary switching elements consists of function realizable by means of either diode gates or a single ...

On ternary logic

Journal of Symbolic Logic, 1949
1. The problemIn this paper we give the complete list of the functions of one variable with some of their properties, and lists of functions corresponding to various properties of sum, product, implication, and equivalence. The range of the variables as well as that of functional values will be о (false), ½, 1 (true).
