SPLICEIT Fluorescent Sensor for Integrating Dopamine Release with Cellular Resolution
“Single‐chain protein‐based ligand indication through a chimerically‐engineered integrator tool” (SPLICEIT) is a G‐protein coupled receptor‐based sensor design that leaves a permanent fluorescent mark. We show dopamine detection in primary cultured neurons with a fourfold signal increase normalized to an mCherry (mCh) marker.

The Avian Encephalomyelitis Virus (AEV) 5’ Untranslated Region Contains an IRES with Similarity to the Hepatitis C Virus IRES [PDF]
Cap-independent internal initiation of protein synthesis has been shown to occur on a number of viral and cellular mRNAs. Initiation of protein synthesis is directed by an internal ribosome entry site (IRES) element within the 5’ untranslated region (UTR)

Congenital Microphthalmic Syndrome in a Swine
A 17-week-old crossbred finishing pig was presented for lameness of approximately one week. Clinical evaluation, including ophthalmologic examination, revealed ataxia, partial flaccid paresis of the pelvic limbs, skin lesions at feet and claws, and ...

Death receptor-based enrichment of Cas9-expressing cells [PDF]
Background: The CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing system has greatly facilitated and expanded our capacity to engineer mammalian genomes, including targeted gene knock-outs. However, the phenotyping of the knock-out effect requires a high DNA editing efficiency.

A novel class of microRNA-recognition elements that function only within open reading frames. [PDF]
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are well known to target 3' untranslated regions (3' UTRs) in mRNAs, thereby silencing gene expression at the post-transcriptional level.

Detection and molecular characterization of porcine enterovirus G15 and teschovirus from India
ABSTRACT Porcine enterovirus G (EV-G) and teschovirus (PTV) generally cause asymptomatic infections. Although both viruses have been reported from various countries, they are rarely detected from India. To detect these viruses in Western India, fecal samples (n = 26) of diarrheic piglets aged below three months from private pig farms ...

Summary Duckweeds (Lemnaceae) have excellent potential for fundamental and applied research due to ease of cultivation, small size, and continuous fast clonal growth. However, their usage as model organisms and platforms for biotechnological applications is often limited by the lack of universal genetic manipulation methods necessary for transgene ...

Physical exercise ameliorates cognitive deficits and attenuates Tau hyperphosphorylation under chronic stress by elevating circulating adiponectin levels. Upon receptor binding, adiponectin modulates the LCMT1/PME‐1 regulatory axis to promote PP2A methylation and catalytic function.
