Fundamental Challenges, Physical Implementations, and Integration Strategies for Ising Machines in Large‐Scale Optimization Tasks

Ising machines are emerging as specialized hardware solvers for computationally hard optimization problems. This review examines five major platforms—digital CMOS, analog CMOS, emerging devices, coherent optics, and quantum systems—highlighting physics‐rooted advantages and shared bottlenecks in scalability and connectivity.

Highly‐Uniform Passive Crossbar Arrays of Resistive Switching Random Access Memory (RRAM) for In‐Memory Computing Applications

Passive resistive memory arrays promise efficient in‐memory computing but suffer from sneak paths and programming variability. Here, highly uniform 32 × 32 passive RRAM crossbars are programmed with multilevel precision below 3% error and 99.5% yield.

Influence of Top Electrode Metal on Resistive Switching in Multilayer MOCVD MoS2 Memristors

MoS2 memristors typically use evaporated noble metal electrodes. This study compares Pd, Ni, and Al electrodes and sputtered versus evaporated deposition. Pd is passive, while Ni damages MoS2, yielding poor switching. Oxygen‐Driven Structural Reorganization by Trace Water Enabling Fast Li‐Ion Transport in a Pliable Solid Electrolyte

Trace water is acting as a constructive mediator in 2LiCl–GaF3, markedly increasing ionic conductivity while reorganizing local coordination. Hydration creates localized Li+ solvation environments and partially dissociates ion pairs, enhancing Li‐ion mobility.
