The computational analysis of human testis transcriptome reveals closer ties to pluripotency
Aims: The purpose of this study was to identify the differentially expressed genes (DEG) in human testis and also evaluate the relationship between human testis, human Embryonic Stem Cells (hESC), mouse testis and mouse ESCs (mESC).

Identifizierung und Charakterisierung eines neuen Bindeproteins für zyklische Nukleotide [PDF]
Cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) and cyclic guanosine monophosphate are important intracellular messengers. Binding of cyclic nucleotides controls the activity of protein kinases, ion channels and guanine-nucleotide-exchange factors in many cells ...

Novas perspectivas no diagnóstico do hipogonadismo pediátrico masculino: a importância do AMH como marcador de células de Sertoli [PDF]
Sertoli cells are the most active cell population in the testis during infancy and childhood. In these periods of life, hypogonadism can only be evidenced without stimulation tests, if Sertoli cell function is assessed.

The prognosis for lymphoma clinically localized to the testis at the time of original diagnosis is relatively favorable after orchiectomy and radiation therapy to the regional lymph nodes the previously held belief that life expectancy is poor for men with testicular lymphoma was due to failure in most reports to separate survival of those with ...

This study optimizes a two‐step induction system to generate PGCLCs from chicken ESCs. The induced cells express germline markers and migrate to gonads in ovo, offering a novel approach for avian genetic resource conservation. Primordial germ cells (PGCs) are the progenitor cells of sperm and eggs.

HAGE, a cancer/testis antigen expressed at the protein level in a variety of cancers [PDF]
The search for novel tumour antigens that are either uniquely expressed or over-expressed in a wide variety of tumours is still ongoing. Because of their expression in a broad spectrum of cancers and limited expression in normal tissues, cancer/testis ...

A surge of late-occurring meiotic double-strand breaks rescues synapsis abnormalities in spermatocytes of mice with hypomorphic expression of SPO11 [PDF]
Meiosis is the biological process that, after a cycle of DNA replication, halves the cellular chromosome complement, leading to the formation of haploid gametes.

This study investigates the protective role of salubrinal against heat‐induced endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress in mouse spermatogenic cells (GC1 and GC2). By modulating the ER stress pathway, salubrinal alleviates cellular stress and supports spermatogenic cell survival, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic candidate for heat‐related infertility.

Gene Expression of E2F1 in Chicken and Mouse Testes at Various Developmental Stages
E2F1 (Adenoviral E2 promoter binding transcription factor 1), mediating cell proliferation and p53-dependent/independent apoptosis, has been shown to be involved in spermatogenesis in mouse testis.
