Effects on Pupil Size and Accommodation from Topical Lidocaine Hydrochloride and Tetracaine Hydrochloride

open access: yesJournal of Ocular Pharmacology and Therapeutics, 2007
The aim of this study was to quantify the mydriatic and cycloplegic effects from topically applied lidocaine hydrochloride 4% and tetracaine hydrochloride 1% in healthy volunteers.Twenty-six (26) healthy volunteers age 23 +/- 2.5 years were included in this double-masked, randomized, intraindividually comparing study. All participants were given a drop

Transdermal permeation of tetracaine hydrochloride by lecithin microemulsion: In vivo

Colloids and Surfaces B: Biointerfaces, 2006
In vivo transdermal permeation of tetracaine hydrochloride encapsulated in lecithin water-in-oil and oil-in-water microemulsion was studied. The effect of the composition of the lecithin microemulsion on analgesic response of tetracaine hydrochloride was evaluated on Wistar rats by tail flick method.

The Spectrophotometric Determination of Tetracaine and Phenylephrine Hydrochloride

open access: yesJournal of the American Pharmaceutical Association (Scientific ed.), 1952
A method is presented for the quantitative determination of tetracaine and phenylephrine hydrochloride in therapeutic preparations based on ultraviolet spectrophotometry and colorimetry. Tetracaine absorbs light strongly in the spectral region of 310 mμ, while phenylephrine shows negligible absorption at this wave length.

INTRAVENOUS ADMINISTRATION OF TETRACAINE (PONTOCAINE®) HYDROCHLORIDE

open access: yesArchives of Internal Medicine, 1950
DURING the last eight years numerous reports have been published on the intravenous use of procaine (novocain ® ) hydrochloride. In the United States interest has centered mainly on administration in the slow intravenous drip of 0.1 and 0.2 per cent solutions, taking from twenty minutes to an hour and a half.
