Formation of micelles and membrane action of the local anesthetic tetracaine hydrochloride

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Biomembranes, 1980
The formation of micelles of the local anesthetic tetracaine hydrochloride in aqueous phosphate buffer solution of pH 6.5 and ionic strength (I) 0.10 was examined at 22 degrees C by surface tension and using the fluorescent indicators perylene (peri-dinaphthalene) and 8-anilino-1-naphthalene sulfonic acid, sodium salt (ANS).

Nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopic studies of procaine hydrochloride and tetracaine hydrochloride at lipid—water interfaces

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Biomembranes, 1969
High resolution NMR spectroscopy has been applied to the study of the interaction of two local anaesthetic molecules, procaine·HCl and tetracaine·HCl, with phospholipid dispersions. Interaction occurred with the acidic phospholipid phosphatidylserine but not with zwitterionic lecithin, indicating that the interaction was of an electrostatic nature. Van

[Studies for analyzing prohibited ingredients such as tetracaine hydrochloride in cosmetics].

Kokuritsu Iyakuhin Shokuhin Eisei Kenkyujo hokoku = Bulletin of National Institute of Health Sciences, 2005
Tetracaine hydrochloride (TH) is nominated as the prohibited ingredients in cosmetics in Japanese Pharmaceutical Affairs Act. So the analytical method for TH was investigated by HPLC. After adding 5 ml of TH solution at 10 microg/ml and 2 ml of salicylic acid solution at 75 microg/ml as the internal standard to 0.5 g of the lotion, the mixture was made

Effect of receptor solution specific conductivity on iontophoresis of tetracaine hydrochloride.

Yao xue xue bao = Acta pharmaceutica Sinica, 2004
To examine the quantitative relationship between solution specific conductivity and the permeability of tetracaine HCl, and to investigate the effect of receptor solution specific conductivity on the iontophoretic transport. An in vitro study was carried out to determine the iontophoretic permeability of tetracaine hydrochloride through rat skin ...

[Fluorescence quenching reaction of tetracaine hydrochloride with erythrosine and their analytical applications].

Guang pu xue yu guang pu fen xi = Guang pu, 2010
In Britton-Robinson (BR) buffer solution at pH 4.0, erythrosine (ET) reacts with tetracaine hydrochloride (TA x HCl) to form an ion association complex that quenches the fluorescence of erythrosine and has a compound ratio of 1 : 1. The measurement wavelength of fluorescence quenching was located at lambda(ex)/lambda(em) = 525 nm/556 nm.
