Murine Biocompatibility Evaluation of an Albumin‐Derived Complex and Nanoparticle Delivery System for Ocular Applications

open access: yesJournal of Biomedical Materials Research Part A, Volume 114, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Age‐related macular degeneration (AMD) is a leading cause of irreversible vision loss in the aging population, with no curative treatment currently available. Current therapies primarily target late‐stage symptoms and are limited by their frequent and invasive intravitreal (IVT) injections.

Anogenital Contact Dermatitis in Spain: A REIDAC Study of Patients Undergoing Patch Testing in 2019–2024

open access: yesContact Dermatitis, Volume 94, Issue 3, Page 272-285, March 2026.
Allergic contact dermatitis is very common in patients with anogenital lesions referred for patch testing in Spain. Key allergens include fragrances, preservatives and topical treatments like anaesthetics and steroids. Emerging sensitisers including benzisothiazolinone and sodium metabisulphite are also relevant.

Ultrasonographic Ocular Biometry of the Greater Caribbean Manatee (Trichechus manatus manatus)

open access: yesVeterinary Ophthalmology, Volume 29, Issue 2, March 2026.
ABSTRACT This study aimed to characterize the ocular biometry of the Trichechus manatus manatus applying B‐mode ultrasonography across different age groups. Twenty‐two animals were assessed employing a portable ultrasound device equipped with a linear transducer. Five ocular parameters were assessed: corneal thickness (CT), anterior chamber depth (ACD),

Early sensorimotor restriction in rats induces age‐dependent mitochondrial alterations in skeletal muscles and brain structures

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, Volume 604, Issue 6, Page 2512-2524, 15 March 2026.
Abstract figure legend This study aimed to determine whether early sensorimotor restriction (SMR) alters mitochondrial enzyme activities in rat muscles and brain structures. SMR was induced via immobilizing the hind limbs of pups for 16 h per day during the dark phase from birth to postnatal day (PND) 28.

MSC‐Derived Exosomal lnc‐AGT‐3: A Novel Anti‐Angiogenic Target in Age‐Related Macular Degeneration Through p53 Signaling Pathway

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 2, February 2026.
MSC‐derived exosomes deliver lnc‐AGT‐3 to vascular endothelial cells, where it binds hnRNP K in the nucleus. This interaction inhibits p53 ubiquitination, enhancing p53 stabilization and transcriptional activation of anti‐angiogenic targets TSP1. Consequently, p53‐mediated signaling is potentiated, effectively suppressing choroidal neovascularization ...

Antiseizure Effects of Cannabidiol in Combination With Cannabigerol in the Maximal Electroshock Seizure Model

open access: yesBasic &Clinical Pharmacology &Toxicology, Volume 138, Issue 2, February 2026.
Cannabidiol and cannabigerol suppress maximal electroshock seizures. Cannabidiol and cannabigerol show similar dose–response properties. Both cannabinoids show no toxicity at effective doses. ABSTRACT Current antiseizure therapy for epilepsy is only effective in about 70% of the patient population.

Intermittent Fasting Alleviates Anesthesia/Surgery‐Induced Delirium‐Like Behavior in Aged Mice by Remodeling Gut Microbiota

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 1, January 2026.
Preoperative intermittent fasting alleviates postoperative delirium‐like behaviors in aged mice by remodeling gut microbiota and preserving shortchain fatty acids. This gut‐brain interaction maintains hippocampal mitochondrial dynamics and synaptic plasticity, offering a promising non‐pharmacological strategy for perioperative neuroprotection. ABSTRACT

Hedgehogs and Angiostrongylus cantonensis: Uncovering the Role of Atelerix albiventris in the Parasite Life Cycle

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, Volume 21, Issue 1, Page 104-115, January 2026.
ABSTRACT The ongoing invasion of the zoonotic parasite Angiostrongylus cantonensis threatens humans, other mammals, and birds. In Mallorca, neurological disorders associated with this parasite are increasingly reported in free‐living Algerian hedgehogs, Atelerix algirus, raising public health concerns.
