Synthesis of novel tetrahydroisoquinoline bronchodilators
Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2010The synthesis and bronchorelaxing effects of a series of novel tetrahydroisoquinoline amides are described. The compounds were evaluated for their ability to relax LTD4 contracted isolated human small airways ex-vivo. Several compounds demonstrated highly efficacious bronchorelaxing properties.

A new tetrahydroisoquinoline synthesis
Journal of Heterocyclic Chemistry, 1970AbstractCyclization of 2‐vinylbenzylamines affords 1,2,3,4‐tetrahydroisoquinolines. The synthesis of the vinylbenzylamines from benzhydrols or isoindolones is described.

New compounds: N-substituted tetrahydroisoquinolines
Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1967The Mannich, sodium borohydride reduction, and esterification reactions were utilized for the preparation of several N-substituted tetrahydroisoquinolines. Aminolysis of ethyl cyanoacetate with tetrahydroisoquinoline provided the corresponding cyanoacetamide.

Tropylium-Promoted Oxidative Functionalization of Tetrahydroisoquinolines
The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2018Structural modification of the tetrahydroisoquinoline (THIQ) framework is of significant interest to organic chemists due to its central role in heterocyclic and medicinal chemistry. Here we demonstrate an efficient metal-free method for the oxidative functionalization of THIQs at the C1 position, which is amenable to a diverse range of C-C coupling ...

[Tetrahydroisoquinoline and parkinsonism].
Rinsho shinkeigaku = Clinical neurology, 1990In squirrel monkeys (n = 13), 20 mg/kg/day of TIQ was injected subcutaneously for 43 to 104 days. Behavioral scores of motor disturbance were analysed; ranging from 20/45 to 30/45 (mean 27.8 +/- 4.18). Dopamine, total biopterine and tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) were decreased in the substantia nigra of TIQ treated monkeys compared to saline treated ...

Accumulation of a Tetrahydroisoquinoline in Phenylketonuria
Science, 19793′,4′-Deoxynorlaudanosolinecarboxylic acid (DNLCA), a tetrahydroisoquinoline derived from dopamine and phenylpyruvic acid, has been detected by computerized mass fragmentography in urine of phenylketonuric children and in urine and brain of rats with experimentally induced hyperphenylalaninemia.
