CaHI2N2.3H20 , monoclinic, P21/c, a = 7.003(8), b = 13.385 (12), c = 11.640 (15)A, fl= 101.81 (10)% D x = 1.17 Mg m -a, Z = 4. Final R = 0.091 for 1852 unique reflections. The two independent molecules have lower symmetry than expected for free tetramethylpyrazine.
