AbstractThe influence of anticoagulants on the nitroblue tetrazolium (NBT) test in neutrophils from 12 patients with bacterial infections and 40 healthy individuals has been examined. Calcium-binding anticoagulants caused a marked inhibition of formazan formation, making the test useless.
