Textural features corresponding to textural properties

IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, 1989
Five properties of texture, namely, coarseness, contrast, business, complexity, and texture strength, are given conceptual definitions in terms of spatial changes in intensity. These conceptual definitions are then approximated in computational forms.

TEXTURAL AND ELASTIC PROPERTIES OF IRISH POTATOES: I. Textural Properties*

Journal of Texture Studies, 1971
AbstractSteam‐peeled unprocessed potatoes showed the least hardness, gumminess, and resistance to shear or to compression forces in comparison to those peeled by lye or by abrasion. Fracturability values were greater than hardness values for the unprocessed potatoes, while the reverse was true for processed potatoes.

Effect of the textural properties of rocks on their crushing and grinding features [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Minerals, Metallurgy, and Materials, 2006
To study the effect of the textural properties of rocks on their crushing feature, the distribution of particle size, the texture, grinding and crushing characteristics of the rocks were investigated, and the relations among them were then analyzed using

Texture and Properties

2014
Crystallographic texture influences most of the mechanical, physical, and chemical properties of polycrystalline materials. The presence of texture in a material brings in anisotropy in the properties. Although most of the properties are affected by texture, the mechanical properties such as elastic moduli, strength, ductility, fracture toughness, and ...

Antireflective properties of pyramidally textured surfaces

Optics Letters, 2010
Antireflective properties of pyramidally textured surfaces at normal light incidence are studied by the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. Optimal parameters for the period of the texture and the pyramid height are found. The asymptotic behavior of the reflection coefficient with an increasing height-to-base size ratio for the pyramids is ...

Affective Property Computation of Visual Texture

2015 10th International Conference on Intelligent Systems and Knowledge Engineering (ISKE), 2015
Affective computing of visual textures is a cross-disciplinary research field. In this paper, we propose a hierarchical feed-forward layer model represented by multiple linear regression to investigate the relationship between human aesthetic texture perception and computational low-level texture features.

Texture is a sensory property

Food Quality and Preference, 2002
Realizing that texture is a sensory property gives proper orientation to facets of texture research. Following the breakthrough in the 1960s and 1970s in surfacing the multi-parameter nature of texture and in defining the general principles of texture acceptability, the field has essentially reverted to commodity work.

Fast texture synthesis based on texture standard property

2010 3rd International Congress on Image and Signal Processing, 2010
By analyzing the effect of sub-patch parameters on speed and quality of texture synthesis, we find that for a certain type of images which don't depend on the parameters can obtain rapid and effective synthesis. We choose L2 distance between adjacent sub-patches as a measure, propose a new algorithm to calculate the coefficient of texture standard ...

Effects of Initial Texture on Rolling Texture and Property of Electrodeposited Nickel Plate

Journal of Computational and Theoretical Nanoscience, 2015
By cutting electro-deposited nickel plates at different angles between the rolling planes and the growth plane, we obtained bulk samples with different initial textures. We investigated the microstructures, macrotextures, and microhardness of such samples before and after cold rolling.
