Introducing a prognostic score for successful treatment‐free remission in chronic myeloid leukaemia

Summary The modern management of chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML) identifies a new therapeutic goal of treatment‐free remission (TFR). Half of CML patients in durable deep molecular response (DMR) (MR4 or better) can remain off tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) without experiencing loss of major molecular response.

Disruption of iron metabolism resulting from Dmt1/Slc11a2 deficiency compromises Notch protein degradation and transcriptional activation

Divalent metal transporter 1 (Dmt1) maintains iron homeostasis and lysosomal proteostasis required for physiological Notch receptor–ligand signaling. Dmt1 loss lowers iron storage capacity (ferritin), increasing intracellular Fe2+, driving ROS and lipid peroxidation, and leading to lysosomal/mitochondrial dysfunction.

ABSTRACT In this study, we use data from the recent round of the Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys (MICS) conducted between 2021 and 2022 to estimate the effect of son preference on reproductive behavior in Uzbekistan. We find strong evidence for differential stopping and spacing behavior among Uzbek women.
