Phosphoinositide-mediated clathrin adaptor progression at the trans-Golgi network. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Clathrin-coated vesicles mediate endocytosis and transport between the trans-Golgi network (TGN) and endosomes in eukaryotic cells. Clathrin adaptors play central roles in coat assembly, interacting with clathrin, cargo and membranes.

Student's $t$-test for scale mixture errors

open access: yes, 2006
Generalized t-tests are constructed under weaker than normal conditions. In the first part of this paper we assume only the symmetry (around zero) of the error distribution (i). In the second part we assume that the error distribution is a Gaussian scale

On a problem in eigenvalue perturbation theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We consider additive perturbations of the type $K_t=K_0+tW$, $t\in [0,1]$, where $K_0$ and $W$ are self-adjoint operators in a separable Hilbert space $\mathcal{H}$ and $W$ is bounded.

Localization of SMAP2 to the TGN and its Function in the Regulation of TGN Protein Transport

open access: yesCell Structure and Function, 2011
SMAP2 is an Arf GTPase-activating protein that is located and functions on early endosome membranes. In the present study, the trans-Golgi network (TGN) was verified as an additional site of SMAP2 localization based on its co-localization with various TGN-marker proteins.

Distinct role of TGN-resident clathrin adaptors for Rab5 activation in the TGN-endosome trafficking pathway

open access: yes, 2023
Abstract Clathrin-mediated vesicle trafficking plays central roles in the post-Golgi transport pathways from the trans -Golgi network (TGN) to endosomes. In yeast, two clathrin adaptors – AP-1 complex and GGA proteins (GGAs) – are predicted to generate distinct transport vesicles at

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Estimating the summertime tropospheric ozone distribution over North America through assimilation of observations from the Tropospheric Emission Spectrometer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We assimilate ozone and CO retrievals from the Tropospheric Emission Spectrometer (TES) for July and August 2006 into the GEOS-Chem and AM2-Chem models.

Intercompartmental communication in senescence

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Senescent cells experience structural changes in the plasma membrane, endoplasmic reticulum, mitochondria, lysosomes, nucleus, and cytoskeleton. These alterations disrupt crosstalk among cellular compartments, impairing vesicular trafficking, contact sites, and molecular flow.

Suppression of lung adenocarcinoma migration through organelle alkalization by human lactoferrin – albumin fusion

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This paper reveals how human lactoferrin–albumin fusion (hLF‐HSA) potently suppresses lung adenocarcinoma cell migration. hLF‐HSA upregulates NHE7, leading to Golgi alkalization, disruption of the Golgi secretome, downregulation of MMP1, and reversal of EMT. These findings suggest a novel Golgi‐targeting strategy to suppress cancer cell migration.

Egorov's theorem for transversally elliptic operators on foliated manifolds and noncommutative geodesic flow

open access: yes, 2004
The main result of the paper is Egorov's theorem for transversally elliptic operators on compact foliated manifolds. This theorem is applied to describe the noncommutative geodesic flow in noncommutative geometry of Riemannian foliations.Comment: 23 ...
