Initial validation of a self-report questionnaire based on the Theoretical Domains Framework: determinants of clinician adoption of a novel colorectal cancer screening strategy

open access: yesImplementation Science Communications, 2021
Background Colorectal cancer (CRC) screening for average risk adults age 45 and older continues to be underutilized in the USA. One factor consistently associated with CRC screening completion is clinician recommendation.

Using the theoretical domains framework to determine the barriers and facilitators to medication adherence in Parkinson's disease

open access: yesExploratory Research in Clinical and Social Pharmacy, 2023
Background: Patient medication adherence in Parkinson's Disease (PD) is often suboptimal. This may lead to poor symptom management, greater disease burden, decreased quality of life and increased healthcare costs.

Which domains of the theoretical domains framework should be targeted in interventions to increase adherence to antihypertensives? A systematic review

open access: yesJournal of Hypertension, 2022
Nonadherence to antihypertensives is prevalent and is associated with poorer health outcomes. This study aimed to identify psychological factors associated with adherence in patients taking antihypertensives as these are potentially modifiable, and can, therefore, inform the development of effective interventions to increase ...

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

A Theoretical Framework for the Higher-Order Cooperation of Numeric Constraint Domains

open access: yesElectronic Notes in Theoretical Computer Science, 2011
AbstractThis paper presents a theoretical framework for the integration of the cooperative constraint solving of numeric constraint domains into higher-order functional and logic programming on λ-abstractions, using an instance of a generic Constraint Functional Logic Programming (CFLP) scheme over a so-called higher-order coordination domain.

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...
