Combined use of the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR) and the Theoretical Domains Framework (TDF): a systematic review [PDF]

open access: yesImplementation Science, 2017
Abstract Background Over 60 implementation frameworks exist. Using multiple frameworks may help researchers to address multiple study purposes, levels, and degrees of theoretical heritage and operationalizability; however, using multiple frameworks may result in unnecessary complexity and redundancy if doing so does not address study needs.

Aspirin non-adherence in pregnant women at risk of preeclampsia (ANA): a qualitative study

open access: yesHealth Psychology and Behavioral Medicine, 2021
Background Antenatal adherence to aspirin prophylaxis is key to reducing the occurrence of a major pregnancy complication: pre-eclampsia (PE). Up to 75% of pregnant women at increased risk of pre-eclampsia do not take aspirin as prescribed.

FINITE DOMAIN STRUCTURES IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE CONCEPT OF A MODEL-THEORETIC PROPERTY

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Physics, 2020
Abstract. In this work, we follow the algebraic approach using definability by formulas presentable in both existential and universal forms. The class of algebraic Cartesian interpretations of theories is studied presenting a foundation of the finitary first-order combinatorics. Common properties of first-order definability in finite models are studied.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Exercise and physical activity in asylum seekers in Northern England; using the theoretical domains framework to identify barriers and facilitators

open access: yesBMC Public Health, 2018
Background Many asylum seekers have complex mental health needs which can be exacerbated by the challenging circumstances in which they live and difficulties accessing health services.

Exploring the predictors of physical inactivity in a university setting

open access: yesBMC Public Health, 2023
Background Changes in lifestyle patterns and the dependence on technology have contributed to an increase in prevalence of inactivity. To address this there is a need to identify the predictors of physical inactivity using the Theoretical Domains ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Discriminant content validity of a theoretical domains framework questionnaire for use in implementation research [PDF]

open access: yesImplementation Science, 2014
To improve the implementation of innovations in healthcare settings, it is important to understand factors influencing healthcare professionals' behaviors. We aimed to develop a generic questionnaire in English and in Dutch assessing the 14 domains of behavioral determinants from the revised TDF (Cane et al., 2012) that can be tailored to suit ...
