Non-factorizable virtual corrections to Higgs boson production in weak boson fusion at next-to-next-to-leading order in QCD were estimated in the eikonal approximation [1]. This approximation corresponds to the expansion of relevant amplitudes around the

Type IIB Orientifolds, D-Brane Instantons And The Large Volume Scenario [PDF]
This review article is concerned with three topics important for the construction of four-dimensional models of particle physics in the context of type II String Theories. Special emphasis is put on a consistent presentation of these topics as well as on

Particle physics in the LHC era [PDF]
This text gives an introduction to particle physics at a level accessible to advanced undergraduate students. It is based on lectures given to 4th year physics students over a number of years, and reflects the feedback from the students.

Mixed QCD⊗QED corrections to on-shell Z boson production at the LHC
We compute the mixed QCD⊗QED corrections to the production of on-shell Z bosons at the LHC at a fully-exclusive level. We also include the factorised NLO QCD correction to Z boson production and NLO QED correction to Z boson decay into two leptons.

Taking Particle Physics Seriously: a Critique of the Algebraic Approach to Quantum Field Theory [PDF]
I argue against the currently-prevalent view in philosophy of physics that algebraic quantum field theory (AQFT) is the correct framework for philosophy of quantum field theory and that "conventional" quantum field theory (CQFT), of the sort used in ...

Research in theoretical particle physics [PDF]
This report discusses the following topics in high energy physics: dynamical symmetry breaking and Schwinger-Dyson equation; consistency bound on the minimal model Higgs mass; tests of physics beyond the standard model; particle astrophysics; the interface between perturbative and non-perturbative QCD; cosmology; anisotropy in quantum networks and ...

Double-real contribution to the quark beam function at N3LO QCD
We compute the master integrals required for the calculation of the double-real emission contributions to the matching coefficients of 0-jettiness beam functions at nextto-next-to-next-to-leading order in perturbative QCD.

Contribution of sulfuric acid and oxidized organic compounds to particle formation and growth [PDF]
Lack of knowledge about the mechanisms underlying new particle formation and their subsequent growth is one of the main causes for the large uncertainty in estimating the radiative forcing of atmospheric aerosols in global models.
