Design, analysis and reformulation of a didactic sequence for teaching the special theory of relativity in high school

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Ensino de Física
In this work, we design, implement and analyze a didactic sequence for the teaching of the basic topics of special relativity theory in high school. The sequence proposes a series of situations, specially designed to allow the emergence of the central ...

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

A Glimpse of Special Theory of Relativity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
This article provides a brief outline of Special Theory of Relativity. The physics before the relativity, the special relativity in itself, and the consequences of special relativity are discussed ...

Dialectic of the Theory of Relativity

open access: yes, 1955
In his recent work, “An Inquiry into a New Methodology of Theoretical Physics”, the writer of the present paper argued in the first place, that the system of complex numbers, unlike the system of real numbers, has the moment of self-negation in itself ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Parameterized Special Theory of Relativity (PSTR)

open access: yes, 2012
We have parameterized Einstein’s thought experiment with atomic clocks, supposing that we knew neither if the space and time are relative or absolute, nor if the speed of light was ultimate speed or not. We have obtained a Parameterized Special Theory of

Relativity as Support for Presentism: A Modest Evidential Argument [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Presentism is roughly the view that only the present exists. This view requires an absolute simultaneity relation. The special theory of relativity, however, is highly successful and does not account for absolute simultaneity.

Physical Justifications and Possible Astrophysical Manifestations of the Projective Theory of Relativity

open access: yesUniverse, 2019
The ‘projective theory of relativity’ is a theory developed historically by Oswald Veblen and Banesh Hoffmann, Jan Arnoldus Schouten and David van Dantzig.

Electrodynamics in the General Relativity Theory [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 1924
The restricted relativity theory resulted mathematically in the introduction of pseudo-euclidean four-dimensional space and the welding together of the electric and magnetic force vectors into the electromagnetic tensor. Einstein's general relativity theory led to the assumption that the fourdimensional space mentioned above is a curved space and the ...
