Point-Defect Optical Transitions and Thermal Ionization Energies from Quantum Monte Carlo Methods: Application to F-center Defect in MgO

open access: yes, 2012
We present an approach to calculation of point defect optical and thermal ionization energies based on the highly accurate quantum Monte Carlo methods.

Calculation of a lower bound ratchet limit part 1 – Theory, numerical implementation and verification [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
It is important to be able to calculate the ratchet limit of a component when performing integrity assessments of plant components. This paper details the addition of a lower bound ratchet limit calculation to the Linear Matching Method. The extension of

Lattice thermal conductivity of borophene from first principle calculation

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
The phonon transport property is a foundation of understanding a material and predicting the potential application in mirco/nano devices. In this paper, the thermal transport property of borophene is investigated by combining first-principle calculations

Structural insights into lacto‐N‐biose I recognition by a family 32 carbohydrate‐binding module from Bifidobacterium bifidum

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.

Real time thermal propagtors for massive gauge bosons

open access: yes, 1993
We derive Feynman rules for gauge theories exhibiting spontaneous symmetry breaking using the real-time formalism of finite temperature field theory.

Renormalization group analysis of thermal transport in the disordered Fermi liquid [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We present a detailed study of thermal transport in the disordered Fermi liquid with short-range interactions. At temperatures smaller than the impurity scattering rate, i.e., in the diffusive regime, thermal conductivity acquires non-analytic quantum ...

Thermal calculation of submersible motors

open access: yesEngineering Journal: Science and Innovation, 2020
The paper proposes a method of thermal calculation of submersible electric motors intended for use at the stage of their conceptual design. The model is based on the complete system of hydrodynamic equations averaged over the motor cross section and the annular channel through which coolant is pumped.

Direct calculation of modal contributions to thermal conductivity via Green–Kubo modal analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We derived a new method for direct calculation of the modal contributions to thermal conductivity, which is termed Green–Kubo modal analysis (GKMA).

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells enhances bortezomib sensitivity in multiple myeloma cells by altering their metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.
