Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Battery cell thermal-conductive coating increases efficiency [PDF]
Thin coating of high-temperature epoxy resin provides necessary electrical insulation, as well as good thermal conductivity between battery cells. Insulation increases efficiency of nickel-cadmium battery, as it would any multicell battery assembly in ...

Toward phonon-boundary engineering in nanoporous materials [PDF]
Tuning thermal transport in nanostructured materials is a powerful approach to develop high-efficiency thermoelectric materials. Using a recently developed approach based on the phonon mean free path dependent Boltzmann transport equation, we compute the

Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Engineering spin-orbit torque in Co/Pt multilayers with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy
To address thermal stability issues for spintronic devices with a reduced size, we investigate spin-orbit torque in Co/Pt multilayers with strong perpendicular magnetic anisotropy.

Optimal Prandtl number for heat transfer in rotating Rayleigh-Benard convection [PDF]
Numerical data for the heat transfer as a function of the Prandtl (Pr) and Rossby (Ro) numbers in turbulent rotating Rayleigh-Benard convection are presented for Rayleigh number Ra = 10^8.

Efficient quantum thermal simulation
Abstract Quantum computers promise to tackle quantum simulation problems that are classically intractable 1 . Although a lot of quantum algorithms 2–4 have been developed for simulating quantum dynamics, a general-purpose method for ...

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...
