Gap equation in scalar field theory at finite temperature
We investigate the two-loop gap equation for the thermal mass of hot massless $g^2\phi^4$ theory and find that the gap equation itself has a non-zero finite imaginary part.

Production of massive stable particles in inflaton decay [PDF]
We point out that inflaton decays can be a copious source of stable or long--lived particles $\chi$ with mass exceeding the reheat temperature $T_R$.

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Thermal mass shift of nucleons [PDF]
Abstract The mass shift ΔmN of a nucleon in the finite temperature pion gas is calculated in the case of an arbitrary nucleon momentum. A general formula is used which relates the in-medium mass shift Δm(E) of a particle to the real part of the forward scattering amplitude Re F(E) of this particle on the constituents of the medium and its ...

Decuplet baryons in a hot medium [PDF]
The thermal properties of the light decuplet baryons are investigated in the framework of the thermal QCD sum rules. In particular, the behavior of the mass and residue of the $\Delta$, $\Sigma^{*}$, $\Xi^{*}$ and $\Omega$ baryons with respect to ...

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Modeling method for low-capacity hot water boiler plants and their thermal loads
The paper presents a novel method for modeling autonomous low-capacity hot water boiler plants and their thermal loads. The proposed approach is based on representing the main elements of the thermal circuit (boiler, heat exchanger, heating, and domestic
