Abstract The maximum melting points of 14 proteins in respect to pH are reported, the correlation coefficient between the hydrophobic index and the melting point was +0.622, and that between the average residue volumes and the melting points was +0.960.

Worldwide vaccination programs against infectious diseases and toxins are estimated to save approximately 3 million lives yearly. Tragically, however, another 3 million individuals (primarily children) die of vaccine-preventable diseases. A significant portion of this problem results from the thermal instability of many of the currently used vaccines ...

Abstract: Protein stability is critical to the outcome of nearly all thermally mediated applications to biomaterials such as thermal therapies (including cryosurgery), burn injury, and biopreservation. As such, it is imperative to understand as much as possible about how a protein loses stability and to what extent we can control this through the ...

Thermal stability and protein structure
Biochemistry, 1979Amino acid sequences have been compared for thermophilic and mesophilic molecules of ferredoxin, glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase, and lactate dehydrogenase. It is shown that Gly, Ser, Ser, Lys, and Asp in mesophiles are generally substituted by Ala, Ala, Thr, Arg, and Glu, respectively, in thermophiles.

Thermal Stability of an Interface-Stabilized Skyrmion Lattice
Physical Review Letters, 2014The thermal stability of the magnetic nano-skyrmion lattice in the monolayer Fe/Ir(111) is investigated using temperature dependent spin-polarized scanning tunneling microscopy. Our experiments show that the skyrmion lattice disappears at a temperature of T_{c}=27.8 K, indicating a loss of long-range magnetic order.

Thermal Stability of EL2 in GaAs
MRS Proceedings, 1988ABSTRACTDifferent samples originating from the same LEC ingot have been used in order to determine the variation of the EL2 concentration versus depth after different types of thermal annealing ( 450 and 850°C : the temperatures generally used in technological processes ).

Thermal Stability of Dopamine Transporters
The Journal of Membrane Biology, 2015The thermal stabilities of the rat and mouse dopamine transporter (DAT) proteins were studied within the temperature range of 0-37°C. The inactivation of the protein was followed by monitoring changes in radioligand-specific binding. We found that the process followed a rate equation with first-order kinetics and was characterized by having a single ...

Synthesis and Thermal Stability of LiCoO2
Journal of Solid State Chemistry, 1995Abstract Lithium cobalt oxide, LiCoO 2 , was synthesized in air from a mixture of metallic cobalt and lithium carbonate powder and annealed at 850 to 1100°C to evaluate its thermal stability. Single-phase LiCoO 2 was thermally stable at 850°C. The weight loss of samples at temperatures higher than 850°C and the presence of Co 3 O 4 in the X-ray ...

Thermal Stability of Tagatose in Solution
Journal of Food Science, 2010ABSTRACT: Tagatose, a monosaccharide similar to fructose, has been shown to behave as a prebiotic. To deliver this prebiotic benefit, tagatose must not degrade during the processing of foods and beverages. The objective of this study was to evaluate the thermal stability of tagatose in solutions.
