Multicomponent Synthesis of Dihydropyrimidines and Thiazines
Chemistry – A European Journal, 2006AbstractA broad range of differently substituted dihydropyrimidines and thiazines can be efficiently prepared by using a four‐component reaction between phosphonates, nitriles, aldehydes, and iso(thio)cyanates. The scope and limitations of this multicomponent reaction are fully described. Variation of all four components has been investigated.

Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the monocyclic thiazines and their functionalized derivatives. The sp 3 -hybridized saturated carbon bearing the extra hydrogen was indicated by a number placed after those for the heteroatoms. Hence, 2H-1,3-thiazine was named 1,3,2-thiazine. The chapter discusses the synthesis of 1,3-thiazines.

Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds, 2016
Thiazines represent an important class of heterocyclic compounds due to their valuable biological properties. For example, some derivatives of thiazine are cannabinoid receptor agonists, also they can act as an antihypotensive, antitubercular, and antibacterial agents.
