Cyanobactins : ribosomally synthesized and post-translationally modified peptides produced by cyanobacteria [PDF]
Ribosomal peptides are produced through the post-translational modification of precursor peptides. Cyanobactins are a family of ribosomal peptides produced by cyanobacteria.

Flavour Chemistry of Chicken Meat: A Review [PDF]
Flavour comprises mainly of taste and aroma and is involved in consumers’ meat-buying behavior and preferences. Chicken meat flavour is supposed to be affected by a number of ante- and post-mortem factors, including breed, diet, post-mortem ageing ...

We demonstrated the application of molecular hybridization in disclosing new pyrimidine‐thiazole molecular hybrids as potential α‐glucosidase and α‐amylase inhibitors and antioxidant agents. The representative compound of the series exhibited 3‐fold more potency than the standard drug acarbose against α‐glucosidase and 2‐fold greater potency than ...

ThiF‐Like Enzyme Chemistry in Primary and Secondary Metabolism
ThiF‐like enzymes are a widespread protein family found in disparate biosynthetic pathways. They are unified by their use of an NTP to modify a carboxylate, generating an activated species prone to nucleophilic addition. This common intermediate is then targeted by diverse nucleophiles, including persulfide or amino acid side chains, to yield a variety

Novel benzimidazothiazole–thiazole hybrids are synthesized and evaluated for anticancer activity against HCT‐116 colon cancer cells. Compound 16b shows superior cytotoxicity over doxorubicin. Molecular docking confirms strong binding to 6MTU protein, and ADMET profiling indicates favorable pharmacokinetics and low toxicity.

Enantioenriched α‐/β‐/γ‐thiocarboxylic acids featuring C–S chirality are valuable targets in organic synthesis. This review outlines recent progress in their asymmetric synthesis, including chiral pool approaches, metal‐ /organo‐catalysis, and emerging biocatalytic strategies. Enantiomerically pure α‐/β‐/γ‐thiocarboxylic acids bearing a stereocentre at

Electrostatic potential as a reactivity scoring function in computer‐assisted enzyme engineering
We present a computational metric that quantifies the electrostatic complementarity of enzymes to the charge distribution of substrates at the transition state. Implemented in BindScan, this metric accurately predicts functionally relevant mutations in glycoside hydrolases.

A novel prohibitin-binding compound induces the mitochondrial apoptotic pathway through NOXA and BIM upregulation [PDF]
We previously described diaryl trifluorothiazoline compound 1a (hereafter referred to as fluorizoline) as a first-in-class small molecule that induces p53-independent apoptosis in a wide range of tumor cell lines.
